Stayed for one night while visiting daughter at college. The "lobby" was very odd, didn't smell great due to attached Chinese buffet, so we were a little dubious. The front desk clerk was extremely cheerful and friendly, gave us a great impression. We were informed that our room (249) had been renovated and only open for a week. It was... More

I'm writing this review not because it is a 5 star property, but based on prior reviews I was expecting a crappier version of the Bates Motel. I was pleasantly surprised, especially since the other hotels in town (Hampton, Clarion) charge ridiculous weekend rates when the several local colleges have events. For $85/night (through expedia) I got a clean room... More

My sister and I stayed at Motel 88 in Oneonta on August 6, 2016. We requested a non-smoking room. Our room did not have a "non-smoking" sign on the door, but when we questioned it, we were told it used to be smoking but had been recently renovated. The smell of cigarettes and beer inside the room was overpowering. It... More

Was surprised to find the room was very clean as was the bathroom. There were a few things that were not great. One of the lights by the bed had a bulb that was out. The desk chair, while looking new, had a very stained fabric seat. The "closet" had no door on it nor did it have any hangers.... More

This was my 2nd stay at this place. If you're looking for fancy, this is not it. It's an older, family run Motel w/chinese buffet on site. The bedding, towels & bathroom were clean. The rugs were old but that's ok. I was able to bring my dog & we also requested & got a small fridge for our rooms.... More

We booked several rooms for a weekend based on economizing. Oh boy! All rooms need to be gutted. The carpets are badly stained from unknown adventures and didn't seem like they are properly cleaned ever. One room had screws sticking out of the wall where a towel rack should have been. The telephone was not working and light bulbs were... More

This is a basic motel, where you drive up to your room door, get in and go to sleep. The cost is modest and the facilities are very modest, but clean and serviceable. The folks at the desk are friendly and there is a Chinese Restaurant on the premises (we did not eat there).

Have a college freshman at Oneonta. Single parent. There are family days, holiday breaks and the occasional visits. I spent hundreds for one night in the other "advertised" hotels. I called because a friend recommended it. The hostess is very nice .She did her best to accomodate you. It was cool in the summer and warm when cold. I do... More

We stayed here when were went to a concert at Ommegang in Cooperstown. Couldn't find anything nearer that wasn't way more than we wanted to pay. At 95/night, this was the best we could do. The room was basic. Clean enough. Two double beds. The property is a bit shabby. Rooms overlook a large expanse of parking lot. One plastic... More

For the money, it served it's purpose. The room was clean and neat, and surprisingly quiet at night considering how many people had checked in late at night. Never heard them. the price was a bargain, compared to the "named" motels in the city. A little off the beaten track, but not a bad city to drive in. People were... More
