My husband and I stayed at Ikies for our 13th wedding anniversary in mid-September 2013. Words do not do this wonderful hotel or the staff justice. We were greeted by Maria and a man (whose name I cannot recall). Our luggage was carried and we...More

Stayed there in mid-September 2013 - temperatures were still comfortably high, well into the eighties. There are only 11 rooms there and each one different - apparently they were all converted from caves. We were in the Fisherman's House which was absolutely gorgeous with thoughtful...More
We were really impressed when we arrived at Ikies. Beautiful views from our balcony and a friendly reception greeted us. An amazing sunset and an impressive breakfast, beautifully served on the balcony made us feel very spoilt. The location of Ikies on the outskirts of...More

Taxis are fixed around 40 Euros. If there are not much luggage and you want local to feel the local scene take the bus to Fira Town and catch the local Fira to Oia Bus (there is place for luggage) and from Oia town walk about 20mins to hotel. This is the landmark and sights walk anyway . And even if you take the taxi make sure you take the local bus from OIA to FIRA. (A lot of very good restaurants)

A light jacket is a must for the evening time as it can get a bit chilly after sunset. Santorini has a lot of steps and cobblestone paths , so you should pack also flat comfortable shoes for walking. Don't forget your favorite sunscreen (the sun can be very strong), hat and sunglasses. If you decide to go on a catamaran tour (which is a very fun thing to do), you should pack in addition to your regular bathing suite, a second one preferably of dark color. The catamarans make a stop at the hot springs for swimming and for the guests to enjoy the beneficent red mud -which is great for your skin, but very difficult to wash of your clothes. We hope that we have been helpful.
