Old building with lots of original features - fabulous staircase to the first floor reception. Staff were helpful and very pleasant. Our room was in the attic so lots of stairs up but well worth the effort. Couldn't ruin a building like that by putting a lift in. Clean, comfortable room, perfect bed, good hot shower. Nothing fancy but very...

when i first saw this hotel i was swept away, i felt like i went back to the middle ages (in a good way) the smell of peat and old wood in the air. there are people complaining about the fact that there is no elevator but what do you expect the building is from the late Middle Ages of...

Have stayed at La Residence four times and all our stays were very enjoyable. This is not a fancy place, which works for us. I highly recommend this hotel. The highest level of noise comes from the seagulls, otherwise a quiet stay

Located in a fantastic antique building, transferred from inland to the centre of Etretat, with small and simply-equipped, yet perfectly clean and cosy rooms, quality breakfast and only a few steps from the seaside.

We were on a five week holiday which included time spent at nine different regions and this was our most disappointing. It was a beautiful old building close to lovely restaurants, two minute walk to the beach and central to all of Etretat. Our room was good for what we paid but it faced the street which was noisy till...

The positive first, a wonderful old building in the center next to the beach. The rest is deplorable. Unfriendly reception, the room just too small, the bed too small for two, the bathroom too small as well. Breakfast not ready at 8 am. Reception opens only at 9 am. My recommendation, take a picture of it but do not go...

Rustic hotel close to the beach, a nice room at fair price. However parking is an issue unless you find a spot at the public area. The view at the beach is amazing so we'd have chosen a hotel with view if we'd known. The City is really a visit worth!

I stayed here at the last minute on a Sunday night. It is a very rustic, simple hotel with clean, smallish rooms at the right price (mine was 68E; room 16; had a good view and could even see a little ocean). Television, with small bathroom and shower; windows and skylights make the most of the small space; reception was...

We stayed in the section of the hotel which is across the road and is called La Petite Salamandre. The room was very small and we struggled to find places to sit our suitcases so that we could access them. However, the hotel is well located in the centre of Etretat, just a short walk to the beach and restaurants....

“When we booked the room, we did not quite appreciate that it was not in the main building, but in another building across the road. It would be advisable to be clear about where the room is. The on-line photos of the room also made it look much bigger than it is in fact.”
