We were booked into this hotel by our walking tour company and it was a happy surprise. It's had a unique fun renovation. The rooms were spacious. The food in the restaurant was excellent. Staff and owners of this boutique hotel were all very helpful.

Stayed here for one night. Although located on the town's main street, all is quiet at night. The core of the hotel is a very old chateau with a wide, spiral, stone staircase leading up to modern bedrooms on the first floor, although the reception area is obviously of more recent origin. The owners are an Anglo- French couple, the...

My husband booked this hotel while staying in Cognac, as it appeared to be quirky and boutique in style. The town on arrival was lovely and the staff at the hotel very helpful as there had been some misunderstanding regarding check in and reception was closed. Once in our room it was a little disappointing as very small and looked...

A friend and I just completed a bicycle journey from Boureaux France to Geneva Switzerland. We feel so fortunate to have stumbled upon the Grand Hotel le Turenne located in the beautiful town of Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne after our 5th on the road. The Grand Hotel le Turenne is a jewel of a hotel managed by Julia & Christophe Bouilhol, some of...

Nothing, but nothing was too much trouble for the family management of this historic hotel when we stayed. Quirky yes, but that added to the experience. Unique, hospitable, comfortable, friendly, what more could one ask for. Yes, we recommend a stay here in this beautiful small historic town. Bill Hunter

Amusing hotel, beautifully clean and charmingly run. Very quirky, with Buddhas, scarlet furniture, and transparent chairs juxtaposed in an ancient building. However, having a toilet (in a cupboard next to the bedhead) separate from the handbasin was irritating as was the lack of places to put sponge bags etc in the shower room. The really irritating thing, and the reason...

Hello, thanks very much for taking the time to post your comments. They are very important to us in order to progress everyday. True enough about the curtain... then again we have a very unique decoration (to say the least) but we also offer rooms with a more traditionnal bathrooms (closed and more private) for those who prefer. We stayed here while touring on motorcycles and found the hotel to be fantastic. The owners friendly and helpful. Quirky hotel, a little gothic, very comfortable spacious room and a good breakfast. The town has a few surprises if you go and explore, an old town hidden in the back. Lovely. While we were there a music festival was also...

We had a few check-in hic-cups but once we were in our room it was great. Our two night stay in a modern room in this castle setting was unique, comfortable and very quiet. The owners were very helpful, provided a nice personalised breakfast and recommended a quality restaurant to dine overlooking the Dordogne River - excellent. Adjacent to town...

Thanks so much for your nice comment. It's really nice to have taken the time to share your feedback. Indeed WiFi is tricky... but then in the countryside, in France, WiFi is week. Hopefully our country will finally realize how important it is to have high quality networks everywhere. Hope you had a nice trip back. Thanks again, Julia

From the front, this hotel looks as if it has stepped out of a fairy tale - mullioned windows, turrets and old stones. Inside is a chic, modern place which manages to blend the very old with the 'up to date'. Hosts Julia and Christophe are very helpful. I will be back.
