We had a pleasant stay at the forest lodge. Nice, clean, spacious apartment with basic self catering facilities. Beds are large and comfortable. It is possible to walk down to the main beach, and we did so with a baby and toddler, but the hill is quite steep so we opted to take a taxi home (from outside coral bay hotel for 200rupees). Plenty of little shops nearby selling basics. The owner kindly gave us a lift to the port with our luggage for our onward journey. The only improvement would be to help with mosquitoes (of which there are many in the early morning and evening). The windows had been left open without nets on so we had some in the room. Providing a bug killer and netted windows would help.

My family and I booked two rooms for our q weeks stay over the Festive Season in Dec 2019. Both rooms were clean and spacious. En Suite bathrooms and well equiped separate kitchenettes. Fridge, two plate stove, microvawe, cutlery etc.

The owner Stephen and staff were more than accomodting from collecting us at the airport to supplying us with whatever we needed.

Forest Lodge is perfectly situated in beautiful forest area, close to little town area and beach.

A definate oprion when visiting Seychelles.

I stayed with my daughter at Forest Lodge Guest House in a twin bed room. The facilities and room space where superb and good value for money. The location was very peaceful and we loved the forest surroundings.
The hosts and staff are very welcoming and provide all the necessary information on the guest house and suggested places to eat and things to do.
We would certainly recommend Forest Lodge Guest House and we would love to return.

We booked a stay at Forest Lodge to celebrate a 70th birthday. A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. However although we booked 2 of the best rooms in the hotel @ £187.00 per night bed and breakfast the room was dirty and the leather suite had long tears in it, we were told this had been done by a dog staying in the room before us. The extractor over the bath poured dirty water when the occupants of the room above bathed or showered. the chap came the next morning to repair the leak, however he said he was a retired printer and didn't know anything about plumbing he only did general maintenance for the hotel, we had to make arrangement with the occupants of the room to have a shower before they did.
The last morning we went to breakfast to find the waitress serving who enjoyed talking more than serving, there was no fresh fruit, no bread left & no bacon sausage or beans. We left without breakfast.
The manager Charlotte Barrington took us into the lounge, she was great, some problems she already had knowledge of, listened & looked at photos of the problem & promised to refund all accommodation charges. We thought wow a woman who is determined to make a success of the job and get the hotel back on its feet. WRONG.....she went back on her word, first sent an email offering us another visit and after refusal offered a partial refund. Its the fact that she lied to get rid of us which makes this worse. Sorry CHARLOTTE BARRINGTON but you have let all us women down badly.

The pros:
Generally we liked our stay. But you do need a car to stay here. There is a free internet in the hotel (which seems to be cool for Seyshelles) but it is very slow - suitable only for texting (we tried to upload some photos - in vain).

The cons:
Not the property's fault but during our stay (very beginning of May) it was heavily raining every morning here. We were upset on the 1st morning greatly but then we drove to a beach and realized that it rains there because it is situated in mountains. So maybe it is a good idea to find a stay below on the sea level. Then again it is also about the money, so think carefully.

We (family of four adults) stayed in Forest Lodge for our last 3 nights on the Seychelles.
The hotel is situated a bit further away from the main road, but the bus stop ist just few minutes away, so you can easily reach Victoria from there. The owner offers a very reasonably priced transfer to the restaurants nearby so you can enjoy the sunset on beau vallon beach and don't worry about chatching the last bus back to the hotel.
We lived in the family apartment which was very spacious and clean. Both rooms share a bath and a big common room with a well furnished kitchen and a balcony.
Forest Lodge is a great place to stay if you want to be near Victoria but prefer calmer surrounding than Beau Vallon Beach.

We stayed at the forest lodge guest house for a week in May. We both feel that we could not have chosen better accommodation in a more perfect local. Stephen, his wife and family were the perfect hosts and could not do enough for us. They really did make us feel part of the family. In terms of location beau vallon beach was just a short walk. There is a local shop to buy everyday essentials. And although there are a number of restaurants within walking distance we chose to eat at the local street food market by the beach which was available every evening with plenty of choice. There is lots to do around the area and Stephen has a wealth of information to share. We did hire a car for a day to see the island however public transport is very acessable. Rooms at the lodge are beautifully clean and all necessary facilities available for a self contained holiday if required. Beautifully peaceful location can not wait to return.

in Stephen, we had a very attentive host, who was always willing to give all sorts of information. The location is very peaceful, and quiet. With the airconditioning the humidity and heat could easily be reduced to our needs.
As a special treatment we were invited to dinner with the other guests and Stephens family, witch made a nice evening.
We would stay there again.

Hi Christoph, thank you for your review. It was indeed a pleasure to host your family at the Lodge. Such dinners as the one we hosted when you were here help us to know our guests and then to give them information that will be helpful for them to spend quality time in the Seychelles. If it will not be to much bother I would appreciate to receive one picture from you with a small caption to show one of the places you visited which you enjoyed the most. Then you could share that picture on our Facebook page. I will let you know when we post it. Thank you again for taking the time to write the review. Kind regards, Stephen
