We came for dinner in the restaurant and had a delicious “fish of the day” menu and homemade chocolate icecream for dessert, which were one of the best meals we have had in Tarrafal. We got An eceptional good service from the girl working there ☺️ and the atmosphere was relaxing. If you go to Tarrafal you must visit!
Its a little outside the main center from tarrafal, but very very close! The room was very nice i liked it a lot! The view from the terasse is AMAZING! its a ca 10 min walk to the beach. The breakfast on the terasse is perfect! The staff is very nice and helpful! They organized tours and transfer for me! The only thing is: they are building a new house very close - sometimes it was a little loud!
We very much enjoyed our stay at Casa Strela, although a bit hard to find at first the place is well maintained, clean and comfortable. The sea is just outside and a short walk to beaches suitable for swimming. Good food offered , breakfast is hearty and tasty as well.
Very clean and cosy guest house with a very nice terrace on the roof with sea view where a good breakfast is served. Very friendly hospitability. The young lady at the reception was very helpful giving us very good advices. Unfortunately the area around is still under costruction. The swimmingpool in the Villa is super small and situated in the shadow but having the sea at your disposal it's not so important !!!
Friendly guesthouse with good terras on the roof. We stayed for three nights and it was very relaxed. You can get your drinks from the fridge. Paul makes good diners. They arranged a driver to make a days trip around the north part of the island. One thing: the view at the sea is good, the neighbourhood is a dissaster: most houses are not ready - so this is a desolate area.
Just the perfect place to be in Tarafal! The staff was extraordinary helpful! Breakfast was incredible with view at the sea! The rooms were very clean, but do not forget something against mosquitos ;) No Stress
When we first arrived in Tarrafal we felt we had arrived into a building site which essentially it is with many unfinished buildings & roads. However Casa Strela is on the outskirts of the town & there wasn't much building work going on during our stay. We found a pleasant walk into town along the coast via Santiago Lounge Bar overloooking the Atlantic to the beaches. A great place for an afternoon drink & sundowner. I had a lovely room called Viana with en suite & a balcony on the first floor. Breakfast is served on the rooftop terrace also with an ocean view. Good to have hot water & wifi although the signal was not strong enough to Skype. What did we do before the internet??? Eileen from Slovakia looked after us well. We had use of the swimming pool at the Villa Strela although I feel it's wrong to have a swimming pool on an island where there is a shortage of water unless it is filled with salt water but I don't think it was! Did one trek in Serra Malagueta with Adi booked through Casa Strela. He also does mountain biking tours. Worth doing. It is not advisable to go trekking on your own even to the lighthouse due to muggings!! Try & arrange in advance. Thanks for a lovely stay over my birthday!!…
Casa Strela is well situated, close to Ponta d'Atum, an amazing natural swimming pool with lots of marine wildlife. There's also an access to an (artifical) swimming pool . Rooms are quiet and clean, staff is friendly, breakfast is good, it is served at the roof with a nice view. There's a kitchen guests can use.
Nice, clean hotel with a rooftop terrace that serves breakfast in the mornings and becomes a bar in the evenings. Bathrooms are shared, but the hotel was quite quiet when we stayed, so it wasn't a problem getting access to the bathroom. Rooms have ceiling fans, mosquito nets and colourful decor. There are English-speaking staff around most of the time, depending who is on shift. The hotel is located slightly out of the centre on a quiet street, but the area is a little dark if you're trying to find your way back at night (not much street lighting once you get away from the centre). The wi-fi was good and not many hotels in Tarrafal have it.
If you want to switch off from the world and relax, yet enjoy the beauty of tarrafal, then this is the hotel for you. The room was great and the best was the room terrace. You can also cook if you want to, they provide a fully equipped kitchen. Best was the breakfast in our whole trip in Cape Verde.
