The room is spacious and big but very rundown. The bathroom was falling into pieces, the shower water would accumulate due to wrong inclination, the towel racks are almost non existing, the tiles seem to be unfinished. The room has an AC unit that doesn't function with the termostat so it's either on or off which is annoying at night...

Great room and good breakfast. Room with great view to the mountain. The manager was very kind and helpful, makes a delicious juices with fresh fruits :) This hotel is near and central. If I go again it'll be my choice.

The rooms are very clean and the owner, Jose, is extremely helpful and co-operative, helping with arranging any activities. The rooms are a nice size, the ones with balconies provide more natural light. The inhouse bakery is mouthwateringly good! Hotel ideally situated by the beach, the main square and local shops.

Not a charming place, but very convenient and comfortable for the price. Perfectly located by the beach and the main square. Large comfortable rooms. Most of the rooms have very tiny windows, so no view and limited natural light. Not really a problem since you'll probably spend your days outside. Breakfast included at the large cafeteria on the ground floor,...

Santiago and Tarrafal are very naturalistic places. Forget Sal and Boa Vista, this is true Capo Verde with positives and negatives. In this context, Hotel Cachoeira is a good solution for those looking for uncontaminated nature, an african life style and to escape from european routine.

This property is an odd combination of good and downright odd. The rooms are fine, although one would not expect to see the paint peeling so quickly on what appears to be a new building, and the on-site staff friendly and quick to help. The oddities, however, are more numerous. There was one small ceiling light in a large room,...

The town of Tarrafal is horrible - squalid and over-run with stray dogs. The hotel itself faces the wrong way - although it is near the harbour, the terrace overlooks derelict buildings rather than the sea. One or two rooms have proper windows, but the majority have tiny frosted glass apertures too high to see out at all. Without any...

Ok for the one night we were staying, but would have been pretty disappointed if we were staying longer. Our room had a weird odor, and the bathroom seemed to be in the middle of a repair. Our shower could not handle rinsing off a pair of sandals, so I didn't bother showering. The bed was pretty comfortable, and having...

This small, newer hotel is snuggled in between the Hotel Sol Marina and some other building. The rooms are large; the suites enormous. Only the suites - with an oversized king bed and a single bed - have large balconies (equipped with a round table and four chairs) with views of the nearby mountains. The beach and bay can only...

I cannot praise the Cachoeira Hotel staff enough for their hospitality and friendliness! My four friends and I stayed there for five memorable days. I had initially booked a double room but when I saw the view of Monti Graciosa from one of the suite, I knew I wanted to have breakfast on the balcony with that view everyday and...
