Went there for a wonderful buffet catered lunch. Food was excellent and plentiful. Gret dishes of pork, chicken, veggies, salad. Great serving staff. Wonderful views - but was foggy so did not get the entire benefit of fantastic views.

Quinta da montanha is a great place to relax and enjoy wonderful views. The staff is nice and helpful. The owner make you feel at home 🤩 Amazing green areas and the mountain weather good. Even if is cool outside the room it is not ☺️ And the food 🤤🥰👏🏽

A friendly and homely Quinta in the mountains. Easy to relax here. Such lovely smiley staff always willing to help. The owner had lots of suggestions for walks and how to spend our time here. The food was plentiful and interesting. Some parts of the building are looking a little tired otherwise it would have been top star rating.

This is a hotel to steer clear of - no welcome at checkin - ‘voucher’ was the only word spoken to us. Reception and the only sofa was locked most of the time. Food was cold and over cooked with limited choice. The cooks were dressed in hoodies, other guests eating in padded jackets while the huge fireplace was unlit. No breakfast provided on our last morning. The attached picture of the public sitting area should be viewed! There is a very similar review from another contributor in March 2019 and we obviously had very similar experiences.

Comfortable en-suite room, with its own balcony with the most amazing views. Good breakfast and dinner. The proprietor has good English and is happy to advise on local walks and other sights. The hotel has copies for sale of the excellent Kartenverlag hiking map of Santiago in case you haven't already bought one; there are several good walks that you can do starting from the hotel. Recommended!

The hotel is about half an hour from the airport and if you arrive, as we did, in the dark, then the view comes as a lovely surprise in the morning. The rooms are simple but very clean. There wasn’t a hairdryer but one was quickly provided by the reception when I asked. The food is a buffet for both breakfast and dinner and was perfectly tasty. The staff were all great and helpful. We didn’t have a car and so spent the day gently wandering around the area to see some outstanding scenery. It is very quiet & peaceful and so excellent for getting away from it all. I left my kindle behind in the room and phoned from the airport to see if it had been found - the owner went to great lengths to personally see that I got it back. Recommend highly for a recharging of batteries.

We really enjoyed our stay here and if you accept that this hotel is up a mountain with all the issues that entails than you too can have a good stay. No the WIFI isn't brill but you can get it, which I thought was brill. The food is buffet style and you do have to ensure you get there at the start of service if you want to ensure you get soup before its gone but again I accept a hotel like this can't afford any waste. The owner is lovely and entertained us with his guitar 2 nights. The views are fantastic and we took advantage of all the terraces which you do have to move around to keep in the sun and out of the breeze. We did some local walks and some organised longer treks - (if you are not into walking then you may struggle to find things to do up at this hotel) Room are small but more than adequate and the quality of sleep is fantastic with so little noise. I would not hesitate to stay there again if I was on Santiago.

We were island hopping ( 4 islands in 15 days) looking to see the islands and do some rambling and relaxing. This is an unsuitable choice if you are doing something similar, as opposed to serious trekking. It’s a clean place , with great views , but as a relaxing stay it’s very poor. First, there is nowhere really sheltered from the winds. The balconies are windswept, and the communal area is also unprotected, so the only place we found to sit and read was the path leading to the room, and the view there is not the one in the pictures - it’s the water cistern and the washing. The windchill and altitude meant that in the enclosed restaurant, virtually everyone in the place was in a light jacket/ fleece all evening. Indeed the waitress bartender was only ever seen with hood up on her hooded fleece top. Second, the hospitality was poor. When we arrived there was no English speaking staff, so the reception was a curt “passport “, “voucher” followed by a silent walk to point at a room and handover the key. No information in the room, so we were left to guess about meal times, WiFi codes, potential walks around the place. Leaving was not much better. An illegible hand written bill, and then dumb incomprehension when we tried to arrange a drink, bowl of cornflakes for our early departure ( breakfast was 8 till 10 and we had a 7:45 pick up). Third, no variety in the food. On our first night ( a Sunday ) it was a buffet — rice, veg and fish, chicken, pork. Second day we were asked which of the three we wanted and it was served at the table. By day three the choice was reduced to chicken or pork. Essentially the same meal every night. And all three choices were as boney as hell, little meat on any of them. So for us it was a very disappointing place to stay. , why our travel agent booked us here we don’t know, it’s nothing like the place in their brochure. Oh, and if you do stay here watch out for the step that is just inside the restaurant, you go down steps and a ledge to get in, think you are on a flat surface, then stumble on the step. There is no contrast in the flooring to warn you, we stumble down, and unfortunate lady sprained her wrist in a bad fall when we were there.

Nicely situated hotel. Rooms with great view and a nice place as a starting point for walks and hikes. Very friendly staff and the food is good. We stayed in December, and the clean rooms were really cold and damp. The extra-duvet smelled mouldy.. Our bathroom had seen better times, but at least the shower was hot.
