The setting is beautiful, the house itself is very well kept, and the level of activities astounding. But what my wife and I discovered was that Petra and Michael really set this place apart. From greeting us upon our early arrival to constant attention to detail they really were the consummate hosts. They are not "over bearing" but they are...

I've been staying at Petra's B&B twice, and has recommended it to everyone I've come across ever since. This is such a perfect, peaceful place, and Petra's natural hospitality makes you feel instantly at home. New Paltz is only an hour+ away from Penn station which means you don't need a long-weekend to get out of town. The house is...

I have had the pleasure of staying at Petra and Michaels Bed & Breakfast on a few different occasions. Each time I left with new wonderful memories. The atmosphere is relaxing, invigoration and welcoming. I recommend it to all my friends and family. I can't say enough about how wonderful the experience is. Everything from the view, the local town,...

Where do I begin?! My fiance and I spent 4 nights at the Hungry Ghost. We felt more relaxed in our 4 night stay here than we have felt on any other vacations EVER! The photos don't truly capture the peacefulness that is present at the Hungry Ghost. It is calm, relaxing AND welcoming! Petra and Mike are spectacular hosts...

Another small and unusual B&B in the New Paltz area. While the home is attractive and well appointed, it is small and much more like a rental home than a true B&B. We would be more likely to use this as a country retreat than to use it as a B&B. we have stayed at similar size spots in the...

This is an excellent location if you want to get away from it all, yet a few minutes drive to town. The woods and surroundings are great, the hot tub stays hot whenever you desire a soak, and the jets on the tub are fabulous. Because it is vegan, don't expect milk for your coffee/tea, but an alternative which I...

D. was an interesting and well travelled guest as was her work friend with whom she travelled. As they were uncertain of their arrival time, and did not respond difinitely to email requests for an arrival time, we posted a note for self check-in hoping we would not miss their initial arrival. As we have an open check-in policy allowing...

BEST B&B stay ever, anywhere! I loved this place and it's wonderful hosts - Petra and Mike - are consummate hosts. The vegan breakfasts were so damn delicious I recreate Petra's french toast with blueberries and cashew cream at least once a month. Exceptionally clean and comfortable with great attention to detail (eg eye makeup remover and hairdryer in the...

The positive reviews by others all describe what is so special here. We would add: Petra and Mike's hospitality is special. We felt both as guests in their home and friends with the other visitors to the extent we wanted but also priviate to the extent we wanted. Petra takes extraordinary care to solicit information and to respect any special...

The quiet atmosphere of the woods is enough to relax the most stressful of souls. Petra, the innkeeper is a true delight harboring a wealth of information concerning local cuisine and activities. Not only will the vegan breakfast fill your belly, but it will nourish your soul and put guests in the kind of positive frame of mind that makes...

I just can't stop raving about our weekend at the Hungry Ghost Guest House! It was everything we hoped for and more! Petra has truly created an environment of peace and tranquility that at the same time supports a feeling of invigoration and inspiration. Our stay was more like being a guest in Petra and Michael's home than anything else...
