Only a mile-and-a-quarter from Storm King Art Center, a must-see for anyone visiting the area, The Storm King Lodge offers an understated elegance, an unexpected quiescent and peaceful solitude, and delightful details and conveniences not typically found on the B&B circuit. Best, however, is Hal, the multi-talented, generous, entertaining and larger-than-life personality who kindly and wonderfully anticipated and accommodated most...

I can't offer any suggestions for improvement for our one night stay at the Storm King Lodge and visit to the Storm King Art Center, 5 minutes from the lodge. Our hosts, Hal and Gay Janks were upbeat and gracious. The Inn is beautiful; our room (the Pine Room) was perfect complete with a working fireplace and a view of...

This is a lovely B&B with spectacular views of the mountains and fall leaves. Peaceful and quiet, with a home cooked breakfast to start the morning. I could sit on the porch and rock all day, then watch for the moon to rise over the mountains. If you want more activity, there is easy access to Storm King Art Center...

Storm King Lodge is a beautifully restored and converted barn. The living room is large, comfortable, and filled with interesting objects and "treasures" that the owner, Hal, has collected. Hal, is a very friendly host, who makes everyone feel welcome and comfortable. After he has made sure that all guests are settled in, he returns to the apartment he and...

The Storm King Lodge is a great B&B. It's an unique facility - in a converted Dutch "slope barn" dating from the late 1700s. It is very comfy and restful. The bonus is Hal; a special innkeeper - he is personality personified! Very convenient to the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and the Storm King Art Center. We hope...

We stayed for one night and were the only couple in the house. It was very comfortable with well worn country furniture. Since we had the house to ourselves we enjoyed watching television in the living room as there is no TV in the rooms. Hal was a gracious host and his breakfast was excellent with eggs any way you...

Stayed for one night and got a great bargain ($200) on a huge room (East Cottage), which was the size of a small house with living room, full kitchen with washer/dryer, fireplace, etc. The furniture was comfortable and slip covers a bit worn out, and the water smells of sulphur coming out of the taps, but this room has access...

A very comfortable and beautiful lodging, with a gracious and entertaining host. A comfortable bed, well-stocked room and bathroom, and nourishing large breakfast. Worth the voyage. I highly recommend this lodge.

We stayed at Storm King Lodge one night late August. On arrival we were met by the proprietor, Hal, who immediately made us feel very welcome, and who saw to that we were lacking for nothing. The lodge was, as others have also said, very well kept, Clean and comfortable and in lovely surroundings. Hal also had great information on...
