Our stay at Buttermilk Falls was very nice. We visited the farm animals which was very fun, we walked to the Hudson river which was beautiful, and we ate at their restaurant which had great food. We stayed in the Winterberry room which seemed a little more private then the others which was great. Overall, we had a great stay...

My stay at Buttermilk Falls Inn began with a disappointment. I was taking my parents there as part of gift weekend for them. As a lot of people's parents probably are, mine are frugal, and I knew that they would be shocked by the nearly $500/night price per room. Accordingly, I wrote to the Inn in advance of our stay...

The setting throughout the property is serene and beautiful. But a clean-up crew is very much needed to haul away debris from whatever storm came through, destroying trees, particularly the area around the waterfall and hiking trail... very unsightly. The Juniper Room we stayed in was overall nice. But the "implied" footpath from the room down to the public areas...

Although I visited from Long Island, I can see that this is an excellent retreat from New York City, a ninety minute car or train ride. You do need a car however, if you are planning on exploring the area, as there is nothing nearby. However, it would be clearly possible to spend a pleasant weekend, and never leave the...

Had a nice night at buttermilk this week. It was our second time there. Massages was OK. I've had better. Henry's the only restaurant is not open for lunch during the week and not many options in the area which was annoying. Dinner was amazing and the male bartender was so nice . Rooms have nice views. However, you hear...

This inn is conveniently located across the Hudson from Hyde Park, so if you're visiting the area, as we were, this is definitely the best place to stay. Our room was small but comfortable, and very quiet. The staff were very welcoming, and the breakfasts were amazing (fresh eggs from their own chickens!). We also dined one night at their...

We loved our 36 hour getaway to Buttermilk. We arrived around 12pm and our room was ready by 1230pm. We hiked down to the falls while we waited for our room to be ready and also visited the animals on the property. We stayed in Sage Right with a beautiful patio that overlooked the Hudson River and the pond. When...

We have visited Buttermilk Falls quite a few times now and we love it! This time we stayed in the Juniper room on the second floor. Deep green and white, spacious, beautiful, working fireplace, a/c, deep jetted tub and a large terrace (also a small one on the other side)--perfect for meditation--with a view of the Hudson and the grounds...

All in all the place is beautiful. I love the grounds with its beautiful walkways and views. I only had breakfast there and that was very good. I didn't use any of the spa. I stayed in the River Burch house and was disappointed. Everything is very cheap! All the furniture is cheap and most was uncomfortable. It was clean...
