I am so happy to see that they cleaned up the beach-lake area. I had complaint last year that I did not like the duck poop all over the sand. However, it was nice to see that they do take the time to read reviews and make improvements. I was so pleased to find this campsite family oriented again; the...

We did a family camping trip and took two sites in G loop. We were not on the water but the pond was a two minute walk from out campsite. They are really serious about having the rabies paperwork on dogs if you are bringing your dog make sure you have it. Fire wood is available at the ranger office...

We had quite an unfortunate experience this weekend due to the "rangers"- who are clearly young kids on a HUGE power trip. Our first night, VERY shortly after 10PM, the rangers came to us three times to tell us we were being too loud- which was not the case, we were simply talking at a very appropriate volume. The last...

Although this campground is beautiful to look at, if you want to sit around a campfire after 10 pm (I was there Fri and Sat nights, Aug 14/15 2015) I would implore you not to Go to Mongaup Pond. Even speaking in low voices will prompt a "ranger" who slinks around on foot to come over to you and threaten...

We've camped here twice, once in June and once in September. We always look for waterfront sites for tent-camping, and Mongaup Pond campground has plenty. Definitely book ahead in the more popular months, although if you're not picky about the site location, they almost always have availability. Noise patrol is pretty good, as are the bathrooms. Definitely plan food-shopping ahead;...

The lakefront sites are stunningly beautiful. Nice amenities. Clean bathrooms, decent showers. Rangers are pleasant and ever present if you need them. Truck with all the supplies you could ever need comes through once a day... and they have ice cream! Wonderful trip, cannot wait to do it again next year!

We visited Mongaup Pond for a one night camping stay during torrential rain! If you like waterfront, try for sites on Loop D or E - any one of these can't be beat. If you prefer more secluded tree cover, go for Loop G. The site was a perfect size and we could still see the pond despite the misty...

Went camping here over Memorial Day weekend. Very clean campground, nice rangers. The lake itself is beautiful and clean and you can rent canoes and kayaks for the day. The campgrounds are nicely groomed and the firepits have grates that you can pull down to cook on. There are plenty of trees for shade and each "loop" in the campground...

I have been camping at Mongaup Pond virtually every year for the last 15 years. I grew up camping, sometimes twice a year, in the Smokey Mountain National Forest with my father. Mongaup Pond is creating the same kind of memories with my family that I was lucky enough to have as a child. The campground is quiet, especially in...

Mongaup is one of the most beautiful campsites I've been to. The lake is perfect for rowing and swimming. Many tall, lovely trees provide plenty of shade. Variety of flowers, well-kept grass and clean facilities tell you how dedicated the staff is in caring for the place. There's an excellent hiking trail that takes you to a hidden pond with...
