We were on the way from the Thousand Islands to hike some waterfalls in Ithaca. We are Diamond members of Hilton and very loyal to the brand because a Hilton property is almost always spotlessly clean, with freshly laundered linens, extremely comfortable pillows and marvelous mattresses. We used to stay at Hamptons, but now stay at Homewoods if we can, because the minifridges in the other Hilton properties are truly miniscule and Homewoods feature kitchens and full sized refrigerators, as well as a small dining table and a living room area. I had been at this particular Homewood before--it is a very good stop on the way from Toronto to New Jersey--and it had always been a nice experience, so I suggested we make our reservations here. We were with another couple, who were not Gold or Diamond members, and truthfully, we had different experiences. We were very fortunately upgraded to the king suite with a fireplace. When we saw the room, we were thrilled. Lainey Paccone checked us in and she is wonderful at the front desk. The building we were in was in front of the main office--where we registered and where breakfast is served. I cannot remember if it was Building 1 or 2. My friends were in the other building and they had several issues with the condition of their room, but ours was in great shape. One has to go outside to get breakfast, which can be an issue if it is raining or snowing. On the whole, the location is great, the staff is extremely friendly and we would certainly stay here again.

I hate to ding a business (only 4/5) during the late-Covid era. On the positive side, the suite was large and spotless. The "free" wifi was over 40 mbps and I was able to stream Prime Video and HBO Max on my personal laptop. The staff was great. Lots of towels and an ironing board w/iron. On the slightly negative side, the breakfast buffet was mediocre. The hot food was scrambled eggs, sausage patties and biscuits/gravy (which is not really a thing in upstate NY), and the quality was mediocre. Even if there were no COVID restrictions, the whole buffet area was in use, so I can't imagine there were ever other hot choices. Plastic and paper plates, cups and cutlery. Cold items were individually wrapped (bagels, muffins). The coffee was good, but don't come here for the breakfast. The hotel offers free wifi, and Honors offers free wifi, but they both offer the basic wifi (so what good is joining Honors?). The higher speed wifi costs $4.99. My price quote two months in advance was $2 lower than the final charge, so I guess the taxes went up, but $2 seems like a pretty steep difference after just two months. (I used a group rate for a reunion event, substantially cheaper than advertised rate.)

Our flight to SYR was diverted to JFK so we were a day late in arriving. I called the hotel when we knew we weren't going to make it as reserved, and they were kind and accommodating (unlike the airline that diverted us, another story for another day). Exhausted, we arrived 20 hours later and the staff were welcoming and wonderful. Our room was fantastic, and even though our vacation was cut a day short, we had a great time during our first visit to Syracuse knowing that we had a great place to land when the rain poured or we were ready to spend a little time on our own.
Easy check in and check out -- fast, efficient, and friendly even though I had them switch credit cards because I realized I had used my corporate card for a personal stay (whoops!).
The room was very clean and felt very healthy and safe. We really enjoyed having the kitchenette. My very tall husband reported that the shower was wonderful (we seem to get into a lot of hotels where the shower head hits him in the head or chest).
Excellent location - near the airport, a mall, gas stations, food (including a nearby Wegmans), and a short jaunt into the city. We also traveled to Corning, Ithaca, and Skaneateles during our short time visiting.
We will be back. Our daughter is now living there and I see many journeys to Syracuse in our future, and stays at the Homewood Suites.

We are well traveled and stay at Hilton properties when it makes sense. This Homewood Suites was well rated and the price was attractive for us for a 7 night stay. Our reserved type of room was not available when we checked in. The next surprise was we were told that if we we wanted to use any of the dishes or glasses in the kitchen, we had to empty the dishwasher. The next surprise was that we would only get a room cleaning once during our 7 night stay. This was despite no other Covid related issues in place. So this was clearly a cost cutting measure and a major pain in the you now what to get clean towels, toilet paper, tissues, shampoo, soap and any other things you would expect to get for your nightly charge. The first two nights the AC barely kept up. The third night, the AC failed and we returned to a 78 degree room on a 90 degree day. When I attempted to call the front desk, I only got a busy signal. After 15 minutes, I walked to to front desk, where they admitted that the phones did not work unless you dialed 0. Thank goodness we didn't have a real emergency and attempt to use the front desk button. I told the front desk about the AC issue and was told I would have to wait 20 minutes for someone to come back from dinner at 9:20 PM. After 20 minutes, there was no response. I went to the front desk again and was told the individual was on their way back. Another 10 minutes went buy and I was told she was on her way. 10 minutes later, a woman arrives with a screwdriver, and removes the bathroom AC vent. She looks at it and says she will be back. 15 minutes later, I walk to the front desk, and she is there on the phone, and say she will be tying to fix our AC later. At this point I demanded and received a new room. We were forced to pack up and move at 10:30 at night with no apologies. This hotel is clearly not equipped to handle any night time issues such as this. The night clerk was clearly more interested in the maintenance woman getting her full meal time than us sweating in our room. I did receive an email offering us 10000 HH points for our inconvenience (which we have not seen yet). I would have much rather just had decent service without the drama I went through. Needless to say, I would recommend that you stay at the Embassy Suites nearby rather that this Hotel. The rooms are dated and drab. Go somewhere else for your money.

Dear techsman, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on your recent stay. I'm sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience. In a post-pandemic world, Homewood Suites has made some changes for the safety and comfort of our guests. All our dishes are washed and sanitized through the dishwashers in the guest rooms. We leave the dishes in the dishwasher, so guests know they are 100% sanitized. We've found many guests take comfort knowing they are the first to handle the dishes, fresh and clean from a sanitizing -wash cycle. Additionally, we now offer housekeeping services by request only. Again, we find many guests take comfort knowing someone will only enter their room upon specific request. I can see how one may think this was created solely from a place of "cost-cutting"; however, this policy was created with our guests' comfort and safety in mind. We are happy to service any guest room daily, once requested. I want to apologize for the broken HVAC unit in your suite. I understand how frustrating that can be, especially on such a hot day. I know my team tried their best to help you through the situation, first by offering to switch your room immediately, then attempting to fix the broken unit when you declined to move. We do not have a maintenance technician on property 24 hours a day, so one of our housekeeping attendants tried to resolve the issue. Unfortunately, she did not have access to the maintenance equipment she needed in order to fix the problem and called a co-worker to come in and assist, which took some time. The maintenance person was on their way to the hotel when you went to the front desk to scream and swear at the two women profusely, demanding a new room. I am sorry to hear it came to that, I know my team is very responsive and would have been happy to help, without that kind of scene. Both women were very shaken by that situation and so they overlooked a formal apology at the time. As we strive to make improvements to our hotel accommodations and service, I'll review your comments with my team to identify areas where we can make improvements. It will take up to 14 business days for the bonus points to reflect in your Hilton Honors account, which is why you may not see them quite yet. Lastly, thank you for bringing to my attention that the front desk speed dial function is not working properly on the guest room telephones. I will address that immediately. Again, thank you for making the effort to share your thoughts. We want all our guests to have the best stay possible where everything exceeds their expectations and I’m so sorry this was not your experience. We’ve stayed at a Homewood Suites in Buffalo which was all one building, had a large pool with a hot tub, a very welcoming vibe and a well-maintained overall feel. This place is the opposite.
It’s in two buildings, and we were in the building that didn’t have the pool, breakfast area, or reception. No hot tub. The suite itself was really shabby. Yes, it had a fireplace and a vaulted ceiling but that’s about all it had going for it. Mold in the bathroom, and even painted-over mold on the shower ceiling, burn marks on various pieces of furniture (see photos), the table and floor lamps kept flickering out, and the kitchenette is tiny. Half a stove, tiny sink, and the garbage can they’ve provided under the sink didn’t even fit with the door closed. Feels very grungy like the place hasn’t been properly cleaned. The AC kicks on and off in the bedroom (where the thermostat is located) and is SERIOUSLY loud when it does so, waking our baby each time, and occasionally us too.
Good location for visiting the lake but wouldn’t stay again. Feels like the hotel that time forgot.

When it comes to the set up of our properties we have three buildings that are set up resort style, which yes is a little different than most Homewood Suites. We have a lodge building where you check in and have some of our amenities including our business center, dining room and our courtyard where our outdoor pool is located and is available to be used by any registered guest. My apologies on your experience during your time with us , we do aim to make every stay as best as possible and I apologize that this time that did not happen. Overall stay was nice and comfy. I only experienced a few issues. When checking in I felt like they could’ve assisted me quicker or at least acknowledged I was there waiting forever as a guest complained. There were two people working front desk and it wasn’t until the problem was resolved that one of the front desk personnel decided to assist me although I was the one who decided to walk up closer to the desk to get their attention. Second issue was the room was musty, smelled like someone’s odor was still in the room and it stunk, so I had to open the windows and spray my perfume around the room to get the smell out. One would think housekeepers would spray air neutralizer after every stay. The last thing is I feel they should upgrade the coffee maker to K-cups which are more popular nowadays and simpler. Some of these issues can be expected and not the worst so that’s why I only knocked one star.

I booked this hotel after reading all of the five-star reviews and looking at on-line photos. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. The lobby/breakfast area was nice but our room was awful. The room was dark and dated. The rug had several tears in it and there was dirt/grime on the tile floors. The hallway was very dirty throughout most of our four day/three night stay (it looked as if it was finally vacuumed the day we were leaving). There was a strong odor of marijuana in the stairwell throughout our stay. There was trash on the grass surrounding the hotel. It seemed like the employees were trying to keep it clean but, unfortunately, the guests were not very courteous and many didn’t pick up their trash/dog poop. The area isn’t the greatest. We would certainly never stay here again. After leaving this hotel, we checked into a Marriott at the next stop on our trip and the difference in hotels was extreme (even though similar price points). Very happy to now be at a clean, updated hotel where we actually feel comfortable walking on the floors without having to wear shoes.

We stayed here for a trip and I have to say it was the worst experience I have ever had. The pictures make it look so nice and new. When you get in there the floor are old it almost has a smell anyone cooks you can smell in your room. The breakfast is frozen Jimmy dean breakfast that needs to be heated up ( if you go down the streeet and stay in the hotel you get a whole buffet) the staff wasn’t super welcoming it was something I have never experienced before. I would not stay here again even if I was paid to.

During this time we have had to modify our breakfast because we have not been able to get staff back to the hotel. We have finally gotten enough people back to begin our breakfast on Monday 7/5. Our suites our intended for both long term and short term stays my apologies that you happened to be between two long term guests that cook every meal. We had two teams in house and our staff did have to ask a few team members to stop running around the halls and to lower voices at 11pm, and shortly after that please vacate the closed pool area for a second time after a few of them jumped in. I apologize if that made you feel unwelcome that was not intended, but rather the safety and comfort of all of our guests. I have reached via email as well please to let me know if there is any where else we can be better. Thank you for choosing our hotel initially, have the best day!!

We took a quick trip to Liverpool for a Basketball Tournament in which my Great Niece was playing in and won every game, by the way! We were able to reach all of the school locations which were a 5 to 6 minute drive from our Staybrige Suites. We took all the teenagers to Destiny USA to shop in between and enjoyed dinner at Santangelo's which was only two blocks away! After our Sunday morning breakfast, which was delicious and most pleasant. We were also able to hit the Rosamond Gifford Zoo on our way home. The Homewood Suites were centrally located so that we were able to visit several hot spots and still be close to our lodging base! Great place to stay!

Check in was very smooth and the gentleman informed me fully what was going on. Very helpful! Had a big suite room which was well kept and very clean and spacious. Had full kitchen setup and counter to use to eat at! TV sitting area and TV also in bedroom was nice to have. Had read previous reviews with many complaints but I saw nothing but 100% rating anywhere. Complimentary breakfast is what it is during this Covid time so not fair to overly rate. It was good enough if we wanted more many places close by to use. Hotel was quiet. It was a very very enjoyable nights stay. Bed was comfortable, the blankets were heavy sort of kept you in place lol but no big deal! WILL definitely use this place again!! STAFF was excellent. We did not use pool or gym at this time but were offered to sign up to use them which was appreciated!

Unfortunately no. But there is a hotel nearby that does. Staybridge Suites. As smokers, we did decide to stay at Homewood anyway and go outside to smoke since it had better reviews.
There are more places to choose from in the Liverpool area.
