We were visiting family in Lancaster, as was another couple belonging to our family. Our stay was very comfortable and relaxing, especially since, as it happened, the four of us had the whole three-story house to ourselves. As far as I could tell, the old-fashioned furnishings were genuine and appropriate for this late 19th century house, and therefore nothing came...

This is a secret gem only about 10 miles from the center of Buffalo and 25 miles from Niagara Falls. Beautiful Historic home with comfort and grace. Only 2 doors away from the Lancaster Library which has hours open until 9pm, many nights, and is a very cool place. The area is lush and green and I was told this...

The first time we stayed here was for our son's wedding that was held at the church across the street. Our family and friends from Pa took over the house for the weekend and the bridal party prepared for the big day. We had a wonderful weekend and breakfast. We also just stayed their as we visited our daughter who...

Our overnight at Sassafras was over New Year's Eve. We had a very comfortable stay in the suite. All the furnishing were antique and the wall hangings unique and interesting. Breakfast was served in the Library/Dining Room and was fresh and excellent. We are looking forward a return visit!

What a find! The whole house is let out to guests and what a house. The owner has to be contacted just before arrival so that she can be there to let you in and show you your SUPERB room. You are then left to your own devices until next morning when she returns to serve a lovely breakfast. The...

What a great find! Found the Sassafras looking for an alternative to the overpriced motel/hotels. You feel at home from the moment you arrive. I was greeted by owner Audrey who is close by. The home has all the charm you expect of a B & B, with period furniture and comfortable rooms. Morning enjoying the delicious breakfast prepared by...

The house is beautiful and well appointed with eclectic and period pieces of every kind from the furniture to the pictures to the books and doll house. You could spend...

I stayed at the Sassafras while I was in Buffalo for a wedding. The house and rooms are well-appointed and very clean. I stayed in the Olive P. Lester Room, which gets great light and has a spacious bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable. Ken is very easy-going and accomodating (check-in and check-out times are flexible) and he makes a...

Lancaster is my hometown. We return every couple of years and get in a lot of visiting with family and friends. After each very full and hectic day, we are so happy to come back to the B&B and spend some down time in our room to unwind and relax. The house is extremely warm and inviting. The rooms are...

What a pleasant surprise to find a bed and breakfast in my hometown of Lancaster, New York! The decor was beautiful and the bedrooms were spacious and so comfortable. My sister and two nieces joined me to visit another sister who lives in the area. It was so wonderful to have the large dining room and parlor areas to sit...
