This is a great hotel in Butare-lovely gardens and terrace for eating. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Reception area is nicely decorated with local style geometric pictures. The staff were really helpful and although run by nuns we only met one briefly. However you can see there is attention to detail. I stayed 4 nights and was very happy with...

I have no idea why this hotel is listed as B&B. It's a hotel. It's run by religious people, whom you don't see however. The reception, bar and breakfast area are staffed by civilians. This is not a luxury hiotel, any designation like that would be plainly misleading. But it's a clean, safe place to stay for the night. Its...

This is in a quiet area of Butare (Huye), and is perfect for a stop-over if you are perhaps driving from Kigali to Nyungwe Forest. The rooms are basic, but clean and large (we were in the old block, and the rooms in the new block - with balconies - looked a lot better from the outside, but are maybe...

We decided to stay here because of its altruistic nature and we were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and our room was lovely. Breakfast was nice although it was not set up for us when we vot there. We had the buffet for dinner which was typical Rwandan fare.

They have built on a new wing with double rooms. It is brand new. The hot water wasn't working properly, but the accomodations were beautiful. I've stayed here before. really like it. QUIET, and away from the crowded part of town.

I went there with my husband during the African Cup, so it was crazy. We didn't not have access to the dinner buffet and the breakfast was very modest. The room was big and nice, in the bathroom, though, the shower was directly connected to the floor so it was wet and messy. Overall this hotel is probably the best...

The room was spacious and clean, the water in the shower was warm. Confortable place. Close to the main bus station and the National Museum. About 10 minutes walk from the city center. The staff is very polite but not very agile, some are still learning english.

I was lucky to spend a couple of weeks in Butare (Huye) as part of a research project. My wife selected this place as it seemed more tranquil and peaceful, compared with the other option(s) right in the middle of town. She could not have been more right. Mater Boni is a fantastic place. It is 10 minutes walk to...

We stopped in to check out their rooms, conference facilities and restaurant and were really impressed. I would rate this as the best option available in Huye. 50+ single rooms that are decked out with roman style bedspread, curtains and furnishings. They are currently building more rooms in the plot next door. There was good security in the compound but...

It became apparent that there was no chance of finding a place to stay untill you stumble on the little gem known as Mater Boni Consilli. The rooms are clean & the restaurant / bar serves good meals. The language barrier when ordering meal is a big challenge though but finally eat anyway.
