Not sure how anyone can say this place is fantastic! First off the parking is RIDICULOUS! The lock to our room was broke and didn't get fixed until the following day, thankfully we had an adjoining room and were able to latch the one door and still get in through the other. The toilet was plugged and took 8 hours...

$200/night for a run-down, noisy, mediocre hotel. Granted, the booking was made the night of so maybe the price was jacked up for this reason... but I could hear people having sex, the guy upstairs peeing.... the room looked like it hadn't been updated since the 80's.... the plus side? It is a perfect location as it is really close...

Pros: for families or friends, you can get two rooms for what many hotels charge for one (two bathrooms, but only one door). This is a typical hotel; no meals but if you are 5-8 people, getting a winter room for around $200 (I hate to say it) is a good price. If it were any higher, though, this might...

This hotel is fantastic. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. They are doing a major revamp of the hotel. Some of the rooms are on the older side, but well kept up and as I said very, very clean. The Summit has become my "Go To" hotel in Lake Placid.

Stayed here for a quick trip up to Lake Placid with some friends. Staff was very friendly and even honored same rate when we changed dates. Pool was nice for kids. Room was good size, bathroom could have been bigger. Hotel is undergoing updates due to new management which is a good thing. Lake Placid is all about location and this...

My family stayed at Lake Placid Summit Hotel during a recent visit during Christmas week. We had originally booked a double, but there was a suite available when we checked in, so we upgraded. The suite was 2 double rooms connected by a door, and that worked just fine for our family. Note that the upstairs rooms are accessed via...

Thank you so much for your review. I am glad that you enjoyed your stay! You are correct, we did in fact have a hot tub but when we renovated the pool area last spring we did away with it. Our plan is to add another freestanding one in the near future. I do hope that you return and stay...

The Summit is perfect for shopping, eating, and sightseeing. I stayed there for a college alumni conference. It was the perfect accommodations for the event. I loved the adjoining suite rooms, as well.

We asked for two adjoining rooms. We arrived to two rooms inside eachother, which worked for our group but might not for all. Our window looked into the sode of a mudslide, so we kept the curtains drawn. It was clean and cheap and close to town.

Booked a family suite for 2 nights - perfect! Non-smoking, 2 double rooms each with full bathroom with an inter-connecting door and single exit door. An under-counter sized fridge (VERY cold, our milk froze!) and small microwave which functioned well, despite looking fairly well-used. Neat flat-screen Tvs. Overall the property was of usual older-hotel cleanliness; it's under new management and...
