Whenever I go to Lake Placid ( which is at least 5 times a year) I stay at Schulte's. Do not expect " luxury" but do expect good value. The innkeepers are very friendly and there always seems to be some special on, with the average price for 2 people being around $70. This is certainly reasonable for what you...

The place is quite good if the weather outside is nice, you may take care of yourself (don't even think about continental breakfast or room service), and you pay cash (don't give Mrs. Schutes you credit card information - she may impose unreasonable non-negotiated charges).

We were fortunate enough to get one of their one bedroom cabins for the long NYE weekend and it was excellent! The wood burning stove kept us cozy, we put the full kitchen to use and were able to fit our big group of friends at their giant dining room table for a fun home cooked meal. We were up...

We stayed for a few nights at this family owned lodge at the beginning of June. It was a very reasonable price for the room we stayed in (~$60 per night, with one night free). The room had a small fridge; we also asked for a microwave which was provided at no extra cost. The free continental breakfast consisted of...

The booking process seems a little odd, but our reservation was fine. The family that owns this place is very nice and will try to get you anything you need (even a couple tlbs of butter). The cabins are rustic, but have everything you need. We stayed here for Ironman Lake Placid with another family and had a great time....

Schulte's has housekeeping cottages (I stayed in Cedar) and a motel, which I'm not familiar with. The cottage was clean and comfortable. For a place that sleeps four, there weren't enough dishes or silverware. However, sheets & towels were provided, and the latter were changed daily. (Sheets might have been too - I know they were changed at least once...

after several glasses of wine on a recent thursday night, my friends and i made the dubious decision to register for the xterra lake placid triathlon that sunday. another friend who had previously stayed at the lodge, called schultes that night and confirmed that they had a room for us. when we arrived two days later, we were warmly greeted...

I had the pleasure of staying at the Schulte’s Family Lodge this Memorial Day weekend and just wanted share a little of my experience to help others who are thinking of staying in Lake Placid. The lodge is located minutes away from the center of town but even closer to mesmerizing beauty of the Adirondacks. The room was very neat,...

This little inn is a great deal. The owners are very warm and inviting. I've stayed here twice when visiting my daughter at her camp in Lake Placid. I paid about $60 a night which was relatively cheap in comparison to the bigger name hotels in the area. There are a few motels/inns that may even be cheaper than this...

Over charged us more than 25 a nite and we were there for 6 days, was told breakfast was included, if you consider hard doughnuts and a rude woman serving them continential breakfast...
