We stayed one night but wished we stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is really nice. The staff were really attentive. Cilaos is a really pretty village worth the drive. The views from the hotel is amazing. There are a few walks you can do from Cilaos.
The Vieux Cep is an absolutely charming hotel in the lovely village of Cilaos (which is definitely worth visiting). It feels like stepping into a quaint French country inn. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and they really made a difference in the quality of our stay. The view of the surrounding mountains is breathtaking. The room itself was nice and spotlessly clean, but don't expect European luxury (which was fine with us). The terrace was a very nice bonus. Breakfast was adequate, although the selection never varied. We got the half board option that included dinners, which were uniformly excellent, although there are plenty of good restaurants in Cilaos as well. I highly recommend Le Vieux Cep.
Charming and authentic hotel, clean and comfortable bedrooms, amazing surroundings in the middle of the mountains, very well located to access key trekking tracks, very attentive, accommodating and professional staff. Strongly recommended!
This hotel was our favorite of the four we stayed at in Réunion. The reception was good although no English is spoken. We were offered a drink in the lounge area before being shown to our room which was spotless and a nice size. The road to Cilaos was quite scary for us as we ride on the opposite side of the road with the steering wheel on the opposite side. Local drivers are very impatient. No information is given in English anywhere. The views from the room were amazing the following morning and the breakfast really good! I would have enjoyed an extra night!
We only stayed 1 night but were very impressed by the pre-arrival welcome/info, the good sized rooms and great breakfast. Its a very cute hotel, (nice grounds and building) and definately will be back.
We loved our stay in this hotel in Cilaos. Since we were on honeymoon, we were given the suite, which was a really nice surprise. The view from the balcony was just amazing. The room was very spacious with a lot of character. We also enjoyed the whirlpool bath, especially after a long (and breathtaking) hike in the mountains. There was a lot of choice at the breakfast buffet. The dinner at the restaurant on the other hand was nothing special.
A lovely place to stay, warm and welcoming staff. Good location close to the main attractions. Perfect to relax next to pool after a hike. Great buffet breakfast, however service was quite slow at dinner. Incredible views.
The rooms here were a little smaller than at the other hotels we stayed at in Reunion but what a beautiful hotel in a breathtaking setting! As with all the hotels we stayed at, the rooms were clean, the bathroom large enough. The receptionist was exceptionally friendly and even took the time to walk us to our room. We unfortunately did not have dinner here but the breakfast the next day was good. We ate on the veranda next to the heated pool surrounded by mountains. This hotel is definitely worth the many twists and turns one has to take on the mountain road to get here. I would recommend staying two nights here so you can take the time to enjoy the many walks/hikes available in Cilaos and also just to take the time to unwind and take in the scenery.
Very happy to make 360 turn from main towns during the whole week and discover a wonderful and peaceful place like Cilaos, The mountains, the village, the people, all together make one peaceful life..
We had lunch here and I thought that it was called Isabella's but I found this name on the net and it is definitely the same place. The wine was dark and rich and was extremely nice, like a British sherry. Food palatable and staff friendly. Nice setting.
