Best place to stay if you are looking for authenticity this is it even the mosque prayers give it a special touch.. for those that may not like it Gabriel as two special rooms in a house further away but equally special ... relaxing in the quiet and almost secret swimming pool after a morning on the sandy beaches of...

We arrived without reservation in a busy busy day with all the island packed and no room available... Gabriele and his staff were totally helpful, providing us a place and arranging us a perfect "emergency" room with nets and fan in the storage room. Then in teh next days we moved to a beautiful room. Desing, cozy and clean place....

Spent 4 nights here with friends over Christmas. We all really liked the guesthouse, the entrance and common areas are really nicely decorated. Breakfast is served on a pretty terrace overlooking the sea. Pool is a good size and perfect place to hang out and read. Expect to be woken up early by the mosque though! It was really hot...

We spent 3 nights at Casa do Gabriel (Patio Dos Quintalinhos) and we had an amazing time there. The guesthouse is an old colonial building completely renewed and really confortable, with a nice roof terrace for breakfast and chilling out, a swimming pool and a very interesting lobby with a small wooden boat floating up in the air (kind of...

We stayed there in 2009 in a backpacking trip around the South of Africa and was a great experience. The Ilha is an idyllic place to relax for a few days after a tiring trip by train, chapa ( a small van) and pick-up. The hotel is well-designed by the owner, an Italian architect. The rooms are very cosy and...

A lot of people I met stayed at Gabriels and were very happy with it. I will stay there next time I visit the island. The location is just in macuti town, so its very lively which I like. Its right on the water but not a place to swim, good for watching fishing boats coming and going. Close to...

Gabriel is an itlian archtect ..so the place is very well designed , the place is clean just like the rooms...the only thing is the place would need to be refreshed (painted) it would look so much different and would be so much attractive...the breakfast on the patio is great...but very basic (instant coffee, only pieces of bread with jam...

Casa do Gabriele is a decent place on Ilha.. probably the best of the bunch, though Escondidinho would be quite close, although less intimate. The courtyard is ambient, as is the rooftop viewing / seating area looking down on the mesquita and the beach. The rooms are generally basic. The price seems a little on the high side compared with...
