I take my wife on a date each month, and during our stay at Lake George I chose this as a surprise over our other selection. It's clearly an old mansion, impressive both from outside and inside. Just the walk from the parking lot puts you in a good mood. We elected to dine on the

Loved our room with a gorgeous view of the lake! The room was spacious, clean and nicely decorated with a good size bathroom. The Inn has a gorgeous patio with large fireplace that unfortunately we didn't enjoy because it was raining at night, but would be wonderful. Only thin

Lacey Stay and Review Review: Okay to begin I have to say the hotel is absolutely beautiful and amazing. Its the perfect hotel for peace and quite for a relaxing vacation. The overview of the lake and the astetics of the property is absolutely amazing. However, I hope that my personal expereince was an exception and not the normal standard. I was told that I had to change rooms the very first day after we checked in. I was not happy but okay. They stated the service and cleaning people would make the move for us to another room. However, I received a call in the am and they stated its pass 11:00am I was to be checked out at 11:00am. I was still asleep and the call was very disturbing and unexpected. As I explained that I was only suppose to be transfering to another room. The front desk said they would have to call me back. Ugh.Finally when they called back, they said okay they would send someone to transfer us to the other room. Now because I had booked through a 3rd party, they had someone who had already reserved our current room for one night, and they had to move us. Now mind you in all fairness I did find out before I traveled their that it would be only 1 night. However, when I looked at the company I had booked through it was no refund. So moving forward to make a long story short. Not only was our room switched that day, but we were also told that the current room we were in had been booked and we had to move again the next day. You can imagine this was very exhausting and by the end of the vacation I was more exhausted than when I came to the hotel. As well both rooms were great, but the moving was not cool. I requested a 50% discount as I had paid over $1000 for this vacation for just 3 nights and 4 days. So I expected a great vacation. Nevertheless, the manager stated that because I paid a 3rd party they could not refund anything because they did not receive the money. I called the 3rd party and they stated that the Hotel did receive the funds and they would have to honor the refund. Well lets just say, the hotel refused and did not. However, I had my own resources to get refunded, which I did. NOt all because I felt it was only fair for half, as I had half of a great vacation. Outside of this, everything else for someone looking for a very relaxing vacation this hotel is what the doctor would prescribe. Response: Thank you for choosing Erlowest and taking the time to share your experience with us. We appreciate your comments regarding the overall value of the property. In your case, room moves were required for each day of your stay. It is not common, but it is possible to have a room change at Erlowest. Our practice is to communicate the need for any room changes prior to arrival and to provide our guests with any room assistance that is needed. Our records show that the room move was communicated on the day of your booking by email and through follow up 4-days later, 2-days prior to your arrival. If we mis-communicated, please accept our apologies. Our room process is intended to have the least impact on our guests as possible. As you noted, we do request our guests to pack their own belongings, but we offer to make the move of the luggage if preferred by our guest. As a guest that stays over, but has a room move, we first prepare the new room before asking the guest to leave their existing room. By our records, that is what happened other that your last day where we would naturally enforce the 11am departure time. Regarding discounts, since our records suggest that the room moves were communicated in advance, we would not think that a discount for services offered and communicated would be appropriate. A third-party booking source really does not have anything to do with the circumstances of your stay. Our refund policy is linked to reservation cancellations prior to arrival date. Since we believe that we communicated the specifics of your stay and you arrived and stayed the nights of your reservation, we would not typically consider that a discount is warranted. Once again, I apologize if our guest service team manager created any confusion here. We appreciate your interest in The Inn at Erlowest and would like to have you stay with us again where you could enjoy the suite of your choice without interruption. We would be happy to discuss and clarify the details of your stay if you would like to call. Regards Frank Dittrich, GM The Inn at Erlowest

If there is a wedding how does that impact quests staying at the inn? is it crowded and noisy?
When there is a wedding scheduled at The Inn at Erlowest, we work with the wedding party to insure that any wedding related activities have the smallest possible impact on the rest of the guests of the Inn. Our staff is trained to manage the different uses of the property to be sure that everyone's needs are respected. Specifically as a guest of the Inn, you might see the bridal party in the Montcalm sitting area for hair and make up preparation. The majority of our guests find that activity to be a fun event as they use the staircase to the lobby. The wedding cocktail hour would be hosted in front of the ballroom and in our courtyard. Lasting 60 minutes, most Inn guests enjoy seeing the newly weds and their guests enjoy themselves. Once the cocktail hour is complete the wedding moves inside the closed doors of the ballroom with little to no impact to Inn guests. Seasonally, we serve dinner on the fireplace patio during cocktail hour and the wedding reception without a clash between uses of the property. If you have any additional questions, please contact us at 518-668-5928 and we would be happy to answer any other questions that you might have. We look forward to seeing you in the near future! We have rented a townhouse for my nieces wedding in the fall. Has anyone stayed in these accommodations?
Sorry I just saw this. We stayed at the Inn only. Can you go online and see pictures of the inside of the Townhouses? You are right off the water and they look new.
