It was OK. Rooms were fine. Mini fridge was cold. Beds were horribly uncomfortable. The location is great you can walk to everything and food and entertainment is right around the corner. The “heated” pool was freezing. Last straw was we were checking to make sure we remembered everything and instead of a Bible in the drawer there were empty baggies of white powder.

How clean is it? Well, I accidentally rubbed against the inside pool wall - and it was SQUEAKY CLEAN! As were the rooms and the yard. Clean-cute-quaint.
More than just donuts? The continental breakfast included fancy pastries and a large variety of fruit! Nice to have healthy options!
Owners & staff? Very informative on the surrounding area - and so kind as to actually call several pizza shops on our behalf to see who was open late on a weeknight!
Miscellaneous things we care about without knowing we care about? You can flush the toilet and not effect ANYONE's shower!!!! You can even flush back-to-back without waiting for the water to refill!

They painted over the MCM pink and turquoise with boring beige and got rid of the fountain out front. That was the first clue that this place had gone down in quality.
Our room had two beds in there when there was only room for one, and it made it very difficult to get in and out of bed as there was hardly any room between them and the bed we did sleep in was rammed up against the wall. The bathroom was so cramped you had to sit sideways on the toilet so you could close the door. The cold water faucet only ran warm or hot water. There was no remote for the TV so we weren't able to watch it, although we didn't spend much time in the room. Also, the 5 pieces of mismatched "art" were all super random and weird and looked like it was all from a church bazaar. All in all it was pretty disappointing.

+1
Just look at the pics I put up of the room. They speak volumes of how horrible the room was. Best part was the location. Close to everything. Gave it a 2 star due to location. Motel itself is a 1 star. They advertise continental breakfast but they don't have one. There's no heater in the rooms for winter time. They literally give you a plug in space heater. The pool is laughable as well. It's in major need of repair. The pool liner is so wrinkled and the amount of dirt at the bottom of the pool was disgusting. Place is a joke. I hear the previous owners took pride in the place but I can tell you that these new owners don't give a crap.

My husband and I took our children to Lake George for the first time this month. We were originally suppose to stay at another hotel, however, we needed to change our dates and could not find other accomadations that were in our budget in the time frame. We found the Windsor and it looked quaint online and after speaking with the owner, Elliot, we thought we were in for a pretty great spread as far as a free continental breakfast ( which consisted everyday of bagels cream cheese and watermelon ) no juice was offered for non coffee drinkers even... and access to the "large, private pool area" . we figured wth and went for it, the place is right in the heart of the village right!?! Well upon our arrival we were greeted with a shirtless, sweaty Elliot ( so professional right ). We went to our room to find a filthy, damp carpet, the air conditioner smelled of mold something awful. The beds were very uncomfortable and lumpy and the pillows were obviously old and flat. we asked the housekeepers to fill the complimentary soap in the shower which was never done. On top of all that small stuff there was a spanish family of about 15 people who were renting 3 rooms as well as the "condo". They were extremely rude with no regard for all the other guests. They had huge rafts, coolers, alcohol in the pool and were having a ton of fun smoking pot in a hookah poolside...not to mention climbing in and out of the "condo" windows and screaming, swearing and blasting their music. Myself as well as 4 additional rooms that we chatted with made numerous complaints to Elliot in regards to this matter because none of the other families could enjoy the pool ( which I could fill by spitting in it ) but NOTHING was done. The only positive thing I can say is that Elliot was very accomadating as far as his prices go...but had I known that our stay there would turn out the way it had I would have paid double to stay elsewhere.

My husband and I remenember the person who wrote this last review (just sad;) In the 14 years my husband and I have owned this motel we have never had a guest smoking hookahs at the poolside; we are after all a family owned operation. My husband distinctly remembers the situation which caused him to be shirtless, he was removing an air conditioning unit that was not working properly and did not want to get his shirt dirty. He does not usually work the front desk half naked. We welcome people of all races, colors creed and religion, if some of our guests do not feel the same way, that is" just sad:)"

Old, no phone, bed was horrible and hard as a rock, room had bugs, ac was horrible. Wifi wasn't working. Place is very old. Had a problem with a snotty woman behind the desk. She's a nasty woman. Not professional at all. Be careful. Needless to say we checked out right away and that's the reason for the issue. Don't stay there. Not rated in the aaa or anywhere else. Stay somewhere else!!!!!

I have been in the motel business for over 10 years and in that time I have never been so poorly treated by a guest. Her complaints were received with the utmost concern and courtesy on my part, No one else had ever complained about the bed being too hard, but that is certainly a personal preference, as for the wifi, she was informed when she made her reservation, the wifi is not always available in every room, but is always available in the common areas. Im not sure what bugs she is referring to but it sounded like she had a fly in her room. In retrospect I should have known what I was getting into, when she began bragging on her arrival about her last vacation, in Atlantic city at the Reveal, where she said, "I ended up checking out after three days and only paying $14.67 I think her real issue was that she had decided to book elsewhere (which she did admit she had already booked another room) and was using bully tactics to force me to return her money. I had already agreed to refund her completely, but that wasn't enough for her. I am sure anyone who has been in either retai or the service industry has been in a situation where the customer feels that just because they are on the paying side of the register that they are entitled to abuse the person providing the goods and services. At a certain point in her rant I said to, "I am giving you what you want , there's no need to be nasty" at which point she began cursing me out and even called the "C" word. Now it is apparent that, it wasn't enough for her to verbally attack me, she had to cyber bully me as well

I called left a message for cancellation within my 7 day period. No one called back. Called the next day. Would not refund deposit. Was told I relied on an answering machine to cancel room. I replied I relied on your business to call me back. Told them to keep the deposit and he said he planned on it. Even had the nerve to Thank me. With business owners like this no wonder people travel in Rvs and stay at camping resorts. I would never recommend this business to anyone. Basically I am the customer who was treated with disrespect and called a liar.

Im very sorry for your loss of 69.00. However we must adhere to some sort of system. Our cutoff for cancelling is a liberal 7 day policy. If you did call and left a message on a answering machine exactly 7 days prior you spoke to no one. I would have called back and made sure that I actually spoke with a real person. You casually left it on a machine in hopes that you would not ever have to deal with anyone. Sounds like part of the texting Instagram generation. Thank you for your order! Very truly yours Elliott (front end manager)

Booked this hotel back in October 2016 for the following September 2017.
Received an email in January that just stated my reservation had been cancelled. No explanation. Repeated phone calls & emails I finally reached a man who asked me how much I paid for the room on line . I really couldn't remember i had booked it 3 months prior. He then told me he has been booked for years . Confused, because I really couldn't understand why 3 months latter he was just realizing I was booked at his already booked up hotel he tells me he just got around to checking his bookings.
I explained to him this was a Xmas gift to my boyfriend where he just laughed & said "well I guess your just going to have to get him another Xmas gift"
This guy was such a jerk!

I am responding to the lady who booked an impossible weekend for the September car show. She booked a year in advance after we closed for the season. It is impossible for us to ever book for the following year till we close the year out. We are just now opening up our reservation system which should have been blocked for the 2017 season. Im sorry for her trouble but we have the same nice people every year for the past 16 years. We also have a waiting list of about 40 people. If she was nicer to me over the phone instead of being combative and bullying I might have put her to the top of the waiting list. She will never make to the waiting list for that weekend or any other. I also offered to get her a room close by since we have 8 months to figure it out but I would now never burden my fellow hotel owners with sort of spitefulness as her stay with anyone would never turn out right. She used the fact (or fiction) that it was a Christmas gift to her boyfriend and I should give in because of that. That is an unfair excuse to use. She wouldn't mind if someone elses Christmas got hurt as long as she got her way. I admit I did tell her to get him another gift (OMG what a horror I committed) In conclusion we run a nice clean, warm, friendly, great location motel with the best Continental breakfast in the area. We also really really care about what we do. When we are wrong we try to fix it. I see nothing wrong here! Happy and healthy and prosperous New Year! To all our past and new friends
