I never thought a Holiday Garden Inn would make my 'best' list, but this one did. It's a great option for Ithaca. Perfect location, convenient parking, great staff, great view (if you're lucky with the exposure). IT's my go-to hotel in Ithaca now.
Hilton Garden Inn...you know the drill. A little nicer than a Hampton Inn, more casual than a full service Hilton. Forget all you know. Hands down, the outstanding staff (and I mean EVERYONE involved in your stay) at this hotel have turned what could easily have been a standard issue HGI into a fantastic experience. I have never experienced anything like this. Text messages from the front desk before I checked in to tell me how excited they are to have me as a guest, asking if there's anything they can do to make it great? Proactive communication by text about upgrade potential. Immaculate room. CC runs the show at breakfast. She is a shining example of true hospitality. Customizing my breakfast based on what I was in the mood for, then remembering the next day. Always 3 steps ahead. (She saw we were tourists heading out for the day, brought takeout coffee cups so we could continue caffeinating after we'd leave.) Rachel and Regine greet every guest coming in and going out with genuine warmth and interest. Parking is free for guests at the adjacent municipal garage, also a plus which is not the case at the Canopy by Hilton nearby.…
Have stayed here before. Rooms are nice and modern. Front desk staff helpful and polite. Parking in adjacent garage a little funky as you have to pick up tag at front desk and put in vehicle, then bring ticket back for validation. Onsite restaurant Kirpatricks nice but a little pricey for what you get. Would stay here again when in the area. Can't beat downtown location.
Hotel stay was fine but the receptionist booked the taxi 30 mins later than I requested because she didn’t think I needed the extra time I had built in. She also did the same to another couple. The taxi ordered was late, 20 minutes late - but the hotel refused to use the hotel shuttle which was parked outside the hotel. We made the plane with literally 1 minute to spare. The hotel advised badly and took no responsibility or attempt to help.
I had a pleasure of staying at this convenient hotel for two consecutive nights in March. Though the pool is small and there is no room services available which might be because of COVID-19 pandemic not due to the hotel service policy, they really serve you professionally and give you the comfort you need at the base of the Ithaca town. When I was there I felt that the hotel had everything essentials, from the kiosk bars, restaurants, gym..., and beyond all, I liked the good harmonious balance the room interior and lightning had for me. Unlike many other hotels that prioritize the romantic atmosphere and tend to use dimmed lights more often, at this Hilton Garden Inn, only one of the light stands had a cloth shade around the bulb, and other two were giving out such bright light directly from the light bulbs underneath the caps. The decoration was slightly feminine and featuring garden looking plant wall arts which, in combination with the wall color, curtains and floor carpet, looked very well coordinated to make the room the best it could be. I especially liked that the color was not too warm or cool, it did not have too much red or blue. I believe it was the best choice among all the other hotels in town for the same price range.…
