Pretty good stay, with a few things that were above our average expectations... but a few that were below (and strange for such a new building). ABOVE: Shower was hot and hard, almost good enough for a massage. After so many mid-range hotels with poor water pressure, it was refreshing to have a real shower. BELOW: too bad someone without a brain designed the shower to only get turned on by literally standing in the shower, so of course, no chance to get the water temp adjusted before you are blasted with hot or cold water. Never seen any shower/tub designed like that where you can't access the knobs from outside. There is also already signs of mold/mildew in the shower tile due to poor exhaust vents, again- hard to believe from a brand new building. ABOVE: bed was comfy and plush, one of the best of our trip. BELOW: setting for the automatic temperature didn't work on the thermostat, so had to run on "heat" mode which mean the heater or fan was blowing the entire night. ABOVE: breakfast was notably better than the similar hotels down the road: real eggs, bacon, 10 toppings for the oatmeal and overall more selection. After being limited to adequate, but limited same things for night after night, it was great to get something a step up. Overall, we got a room away from the road... there is the occasional bus / motorcycle making obnoxious engine noise which you can indeed hear, but it wasn't an issue for us overnight when it would matter. Professional check-in from the front desk- courteous and proficient. Would stay there again.

Pros: -good location. I prefer this location to downtown which seemed too congested. Yet, hotel is still close to downtown. -free parking: probably because of above. -comfortable bed Cons: -really expensive for what it is and where it is. Nearly $300 for pretty generic hotel. -no housekeeping- Covid was three years ago. It is unacceptable for hotel to be charging this much and not providing basic services. I had to hunt down trash cans to take our trash out. I tried to get towels but the lone housekeeping staff member had none in her cart. -LOUD a/c unit. It was continuous and even continued to still make noise after I turned off the unit. Neither pro nor con; breakfast pretty basic with waffle maker, yogurt, brown bananas, etc. As a Marriott rewards member, I would not return as the cons noted above.

We have stayed here several times over the years as both our kids attended Ithaca College. Returned for an overnight en route home from Buffalo. We were greeted warmly by the staff at the front desk and had one of our rooms upgraded to an executive suite. Rooms were lovely, comfortable beds and the “living room” was a nice addition. Rooms were quite cold and it was difficult to regulate. Internet, as many others have said was quite slow. Although we headed out for breakfast we did stop to see what the offerings were and it appeared to be pre pandemic offerings. We would certainly stay here again.

If your coming here for work, don't stay here as the Internet is slower than dial up! A hotel in a college town should know better! Everything else is as expected from a Marriott Property. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, but nothing they can do to speed up the internet! Sorry, but won't stay here again for work!

The hotel was freezing. When we got in our hen it comesroom it was 65. It took hrs to warm up. The halls and dinning room were very cold. We ate breakfast in a cold room as food got cold. The heat was blown air the air coming out is cold.on and off all night. Toohpt with quilt on freezing with it off. Also shampoo and body wash barely trickled out. Forks at breakfast were so weak was hard to cut food

Here 9 days. Service and staff were excellent. The rooms are dated; worn out, stained carpet, discolored grout, and rusty spots on shower doors, for instance. Otherwise, the layout of the rooms is standard. The mini-fridge lacks a freezer. They were doing construction on the floor above me. That was a problem the one day I wanted to sleep in. Breakfast was OK, but the lady in charge seemed overwhelmed and exhausted. Little things got overlooked, like leaving us some cooking spray for the waffle irons (good luck getting your waffles out when they're done!) Still, for the price and location on the weekend of Apple Fest, it was a good stay. Buttermilk Falls is an easy walk or 2 min drive away.

Needed a spot to stay on a recent college visit trip and the Fairfield property fit the bill from a price and comfort standpoint. Beds are a bit on the soft side (just as an FYI in case that is important) but all the linens and pillows were quite comfortable. While not in the downtown area it is a very short drive away as well as to the two universities in town. Breakfast was fairly standard of what you would find for the offering (eggs, make your own waffles, cereal, pre-prepared baked goods).

I mean ... okay ... this wasn't the best, newest, cleanest Fairfield that I have ever encountered. It wasn't horrible, just drab. First thing we noticed when checking in was the lack of staff - par for the course for most hotels these days - and the check in clerk, while pleasant, was overwhelmed, and we had to wait while she attended to business on the phone. Breakfast was average. We couldn't put our finger on anything that was really unacceptable, but neither could we point out anything that would make us want to return. Beds were comfortable, parking lot seemed safe. Television was old and small. Since this was a college visit, should my child be fortunate enough to actually attend Cornell, I think a future visit would call for The Statler. Decide for yourself. One last thing ... the location was convenient.

My review would have been much different before COVID, but now, almost all hotels have service problems so in light of the situation our stay was nice. Rooms were big and clean. Breakfast area is big and food was OK.
