We booked this hotel for a recent trip as we have had many very pleasant past experiences staying there. This time was the exception. The hotel appeared tired and worn this time. First off there was a slight smell in the room. The bathtub faucet was hard to turn off and the shower head did not adjust easily. The bathroom sink had cracks in it. The sink was slow to drain. There was a feather and spring on the floor that appeared to have come from the chair in the room. We needed to have some laundry done as we were on a two week road trip. The front desk staff did not have any idea on what to do about this. The good news was the laundry did get done well. Also the room was clean, though the halls did need some work. I hope this location is due for an update as it sorely needs it.
Hampton Inn is usually a reliable brand, and affordable. With free wifi and breakfast, we often choose it. The Hampton Inn Ithaca stands out among Hampton Inns for being especially welcoming, attentive to guests, professional, and keeping their property well maintained. We will likely choose to stay here again, the next time we're in Ithaca.
I stayed at Hampton Inn Ithaca last weekend in a non smoking room which reeked of smoke. When I noted this to the hotel they told me they can’t control who smokes and who doesn’t. I also found a bracelet- was sleeved out as this would mean my room wasn’t cleaned. Instead of fighting this, the hotel said sorry.
The hotel service is great! At breakfast, I had wanted to use a microwave, but there wasn't one in the lobby, so the staff let me use their microwave. I found them all very helpful. The hotel does have a very dated look and feel, but that didn't take away from it. The rooms were clean and there wasn't any noise at night. The area seemed safe. I think it was just an average Hampton Inn- nothing special, but also nothing bad.
WARNING: DO NOT STAY HERE! The Hampton Inn Ithaca was one fo the worst hotel experiences of my life. First of all, this place claims to be pet friendly, but they charged me a $100 non-refundable pet fee for my emotional support pet. You are also not allowed to leave your pet unattended in the room at any time. Doesn't seem very pet friendly to me. Furthermore, the rooms were disgusting. The bathrooms and surfaces had clearly not been cleaned and there was trash under the couch. We had them move us to a different room, but the new room was just as dirty. The pool was also closed, which was a bummer, but the hotel staff said not to use the jacuzzi either because the filters circulated fecal matter and they could not do anything about it. We tried to watch TV in our hotel room in the evening, but they do not provide Netflix or anything and the TV channels all were picking up a lot of static to the point where it was difficult to watch anything. The hotel is also supposed to offer free breakfast, which I guess they do if you consider a waffle maker and some sausages breakfast. The spread was severely lacking any substance or effort. The hotel staff also was not very friendly or helpful. We didn't have very high expectations for this hotel, but it still managed to disappoint. The Hampton Inn Ithaca basically ruined our weekend trip. The conditions were worse than most motels. Save your money and stay somewhere else!…
