We paid the same price for the three days we stayed at the Courtyard Ithaca Airport/University by Marriott and received no cleaning services or supplies. We arrived in the room with 2 half rolls of toilet paper, and a small box of Kleenex. We ran out of these supplies and were told to come to the front desk as there was only one person there in the hotel at 7:00 am. I had to empty our garbage every day, as there were only two tiny garbage cans in the room. There were no towel racks by the bathroom sink so our hand towel on the door was constantly falling on the floor next to a bath towel there. Towels on the towel rack above the tub were getting wet.

Thank you for your feedback, Esther. I understand the frustration of not having your room cleaned during your stay but unfortunately we are not doing daily housekeeping service right now as mentioned. We always have extra supplies at the desk, and we are happy to run supplies up to your room when we are able, otherwise trash and used towels can be placed in the hallway for pick-up. There should have been information regarding our limited services next to the coffee stand, and I apologize if this was not better communicated. I also understand the frustration of not having a towel rack, and it is a concern I share as well. My hope is these will be included in our upcoming renovation. Thank you again for staying with us!

I was given a one king room with a couch. The room is clean and the furniture is too. There’s a large full length mirror on the wall. Not all hotels give big mirrors. The bathroom is very small but well maintained. No cracked tiles and no torn wallpaper. It is close to the parks. I would come to this hotel again even though they don’t give breakfast here.

We stayed here one night last week. It was the most expensive hotel night I've ever had and one of the worst nights I've spent in a hotel. The one positive thing I will say is that in the <12 hours we were there, our limited interaction with staff was very good. They seemed helpful and interested in making us happy. On to the negative... CLEANLINESS: I don't care if a property is a bit outdated (and this one is), but as soon as you notice cleanliness issues, you start noticing them everywhere. I first noticed a hair on the bedstand (along with lots of fingerprints), then noticed hairs on the bathroom floor. I stopped looking because I didn't want to know - I was too tired. NOISE: I usually request a quiet room but forgot this time so were were across from the ice room. The ice machine (the compressor?) would run on & off the entire night and when it was on, it sounded like a prop plane going down a runway (more on the airport later). It was extremely loud in our room whenever the compressor (or whatever) ran. I called the front desk and they were surprised to hear this because they thought it was broken. They had no other rooms for us, so we had to stay put. If that had been the only negative thing, I wouldn't be writing this review. NO A/C: It was hot and humid out that day. We were lucky the night was cooler, albeit still very humid, because the room AC did not work. I called down and the nice lady said she'd "reset" it from her end but it didn't work. So, we had to have the window open (only opens a little). The room didn't cool down much and it was incredibly humid. In her defense, she said to call back if it didn't work but we were tired and didn't want maintenance in our room at 10pm. There was no air/venting working in the bathroom so the room heated up after each of us took a shower. STINKY PILLOWS: My pillows were down and they both smelled of wet down feathers (gross) and BO. I could barely sleep because it was so gross so I resorted to no pillows (family had the other pillows and they said theirs were not too bad). AIRPORT: Note that you are near an airport - albeit a small one. This was not an issue overnight but I was awoken from my 3 hours of sleep (see gross pillows above) at 7 am by the high-pitch whine of a plane taxi-ing down the runway. I probably wouldn't have heard it if the AC had worked and the window had been closed. Also, delivery trucks (18 wheelers) arrived at 8 am to make deliveries, backing up with reverse beeping etc. SAFETY: When we arrived, the door to our room was open (deadbolt out), which I didn't love. But we were all too tired to ask why. DAMAGE: The ironing board (the board itself - not the cover) had a huge hole busted in the middle of it, which made ironing a hassle. If I had had more time, I would have told them but we had to skiddadle early am. BREAKFAST: My kid went down to eat to discover the breakfast was like $15 for not much (they mentioned breakfast - but not cost! - when we checked in so that was a surprise). WHILE I'm HERE: The bathroom was extremely tight which wasn't a huge deal but annoying enough to mention here. It's ironic we paid so much for this night's stay (high demand time of year with local colleges moving in) because it was one of the worst hotel stays I've had. Hotels should be places to rest and after a long, hot day, all I wanted was a good night's sleep. Well, I ended up with a migraine (rare for me!) instead. Not staying here again.

Old and old decor. Not like typical Marriotts. Staff was great. It's fine, just not as expected as I was expecting it to be like all the other Marriots I stayed at. Gardens aren't kept as well. Pool was murky Sauna was closed. No continental breakfast First room I was given, I walked into a room that wasn't cleaned yet. I wonder if this lower quality is when they took over other hotel lines?

I tried to reserve a room for a weekend night on June 26. For no reason, the price had more than doubled to over $330. There is no event in Ithaca this weekend. Because of Covid, the hotel is still not serving breakfast or providing full service. Previously we had stayed there for less than $150 a night. The very pleasant woman who answered the phone could not explain the rate increase and sympathized with me when I called back to cancel. We were able to book in another hotel at a reasonable competitive rate.

We're sorry we missed you this stay, Bill. Unfortunately we're almost sold out this weekend so the rates have gone up. While there may be no specific events in town, weekends are starting to pick up due to the nicer weather. As things start to open up and business levels increase, we will steadily be increasing our offerings - including the Bistro being open after breakfast, and more frequent room cleanings. Please reach out to me should you have any further questions or need any accommodations.

Late post from Dec 2019: My freshman college student, new to the area, arrived at Ithaca airport late in the evening expecting to stay at the airport overnight to catch a 6am flight home. Since local rideshares sometimes stop early and start later in the morning, and local taxis have poor reviews--my kid reasoned it was the best option to avoid missing the early flight. Unfortunately, Ithaca airport does not operate 24/7 like major airports, so my student was asked to leave around midnight! Unable to find a rideshare and already checked out of the dorm with no place to stay-- I got a panicked call. I found Courtyard Marriott Ithaca Airport to be the closest hotel, so I called for assistance to get my kid safely from the airport to the hotel. Front Desk attendant "Daniel" answered almost immediately and handled everything starting with arranging the most reliable taxi to pickup my shivering kid waiting outside the closing airport. He took our information to book a room, and also arranged for the taxi to return at 5am to catch the morning flight. When my kid arrived to the hotel, Daniel courteously finished check-in so my frazzled kid could go straight to the room. Sure--this is routine hotel service. But-- for a panicked parent and newbie freshman calling for assistance in the middle of a winter night in Ithaca, it's a blessing someone took pride in their position to get the job done. Thanks again, Daniel.

I feel like the courtyard brand is going downhill a little bit. Case in point: the courtyard in Ithaca by the airport. Not only is the thermostat one of these new models that don't have a function for keeping the fan on continuously, the hotel does not even have portable fans for the rooms period there are also no microwaves. Business travelers need both of these things. in a hotel where the windows don't open, how is there no continuous air circulation? It's the most claustrophobic experience. Fans are like $20 at walmart. Every Hotel should have fans for people who want them. The people who work here are nice though, just as they are all over upstate new york.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback and we sincerely apologize your stay did not meet your expectations. I apologize all of our portable microwaves were in use during your stay, but we always have one available for guest use in our market area. While our windows do not open very wide for safety reasons, they do open some to let fresh air in. I apologize our HVAC system does not allow guest control of the fan. However, our maintenance team can override the fan settings to run continuously should we have advance notice of that request. We will share and use your feedback to review our services moving forward. Once again, thank you for staying with us and providing your honest feedback.

In the age of COVID, the Courtyard is exactly what you want: clean, well run with quick and efficient front desk service at both check in and check out, clear signage about masks and elevator usage, extra hand sanitizer in the lobby and in the elevator, etc... The location is a bit out of the way, but it's quiet with ample parking so those are a plus. And if you like big fluffy pillow top mattresses, you'll love the Beautyrest bed that we had in our room. Unfortunately, I need a firm mattress so I didn't get much sleep at all and probably won't return-- which is a bummer because in every other respect this was a great hotel.

The hotel is a good option in the Ithaca area. Would recommend having a car or ride service for the location. The restaurant and other amenities were closed due to Covid restrictions, but it was comfortable and clean.

Stayed here for 3 nights. Location was good for us, very quiet too. Bathroom is small, water pressure good. Nice furnishings in room, good laundry, free supplies at desk. Breakfast is different: our deal was $10 credit/day, bistro items have different prices, some higher, some lower. Good food, cooked to order. No free coffee, it is behind the counter. All staff were nice and friendly.
