This is fairly small hotel with all the rooms being in small blocks in the gardens and there is one small pool there. There is no organised entertainment or shows in the evenings so it is a quite hotel and I would not recommend it for families with children. Saying that our 11 and 13 year old daughter enjoyed it...

Superb! We couldnt have a better hotel for this price. First the Stuff - everyone so lovely and helpful. The chambermaids, the waitresses and everyone else were always pleasent. The Food - 10 Stars!!! Magnificent Fish! Especially the one in lemon sauce! The rooms are simple and clean - i dont think you need more ;) There is also a...

My husband and I have visited the Bakotu Hotel three times before but usually only for one week, but this time we came for two weeks as my husband has just retired. Due to the problems with the election our original flight was cancelled and we traveled 4 weeks later. We go to the Gambia for the excellent bird watching...

Staff wonderful but the rooms are very basic and in need of complete refurbishment. There are no refrigerators unless you pay extra, there is no TV, no telephone and the shower is a joke. There is no seating outside your bedroom, the pool is very small and does not look very clean.

This lovely hotel is just across from the beach. The rooms were clean and quite spacious and in pretty surroundings. The birdwatching platform was a bonus, just keep an eye out for the monkeys. The staff were warm and friendly, and I had a problem with my shower head which was fixed the same day. The breakfast was very nice...

Lovely quiet hotel set in beautiful gardens. The birdwatching platform is a big plus. The staff are friendly and the rooms very clean. Would have given 5 points but for the erratic water pressure in the shower and inconsistent meals in the restaurant. Would stay here again despite thise small problems.

There seems to be two disparate groups of people that stay at this hotel: people that want winter sun and lounge by the small pool all day and bird watchers. It's great for both! The rooms are small, basic but clean. If you're looking for luxury, look elsewhere, if you're looking for a small, quiet hotel where all the staff...

My husband and I absolutely loved this hotel. We have both travelled extensively in Africa and really enjoyed the ambience and peacefulness of the hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Being an international event manager I have to say I have never tasted such delicious halibut in a bernaise sauce - the Head Chef 'Omar' is excellent at...

This small hotel has a delightful setting and is a mecca for ornithologists of every calibre. The rooms are spacious and well mai8ntained but have no modern-day luxuries such as television and telephone. The pool is small and cool and the pool-side does get crowded as bathing in the nearby Atlantic is not easy. Breakfasts relatively simple but the captain's...
