The motel looks like it was 1950 again and that is a good thing. It is a little worn but charming. Great location and a very nice beach. Rooms are arranged around a court yard open to the bay so most rooms have a view of the water. Staff is very friendly and helpful

This place is a step back in time! It is in need of renovation, but it is very clean and the staff it very friendly. The best selling point is the private deck and beach on the bay! What a wonderful sight! Even when it's chilly, it's lovely to sit there and relax. We are going back in November!

Yes the bathrooms are run down, and the rooms are a flashback to the 60's but there is something about it that makes me smile. It's on the water with a small beach that is just perfect! It's very close to town and wineries and farm stands! Loved, loved, loved the location. Every morning they left breakfast in the room:...

Having stayed at many places in the Northfork as well as all the Hamptons, I can say that Silver Sands is now the only place I will be staying from hereon in, when I am in Long Island. I brought my family--wife and two boys (ages 6 & 9)--last week and not once did we ever feel the need to...

The owners have not put any money in renovating the place in years. Motel rooms completely run down, bathroom are gross. On the positive, right on the bay and about a mile into town. Been going there for about 5 years now and don't know what it is but I keep going back :)

I first started going to the Silver Sands many years ago with my husband. I relaxed while he went fishing on charter boats.Years have passed since I was last there but I brought my sister and her husband one time ,my Aunt another after my husband passed away. Everyone loved it. Very homey feel. The owners are the best. I...

The Silver Sands is a throwback to the kinds of motels I used to stay at when I was growing up. The furnishings and fixtures are vintage. That is both a good and a not so good thing. While the hotel has internet and is comfortable, it isn't fancy. We did have some issues with hot water that the owners...

Silver Sands is a special place. It is directly on the beach at Peconic Bay on the North Fork of Long Island with a few hundred feet of beach frontage for swimming. Its location is premier. The rooms are spotless, most face the water directly or otherwise, and there are multiple cottages on the property for families who want more...

Many original furnishings in this lovely motel. The beach is beautiful. I really liked the town. The owners were very nice. It is a short drive from NYC. Greenport is a village in Suffolk County, New York, United States. It is located on the north fork of Long Island. The population was 2,197 at the 2010 census.[1] Thank you Wikipedia

We hadn't been to Silver Sands in about three years. We were delighted to be able to spend three nights before the Memorial Day Weekend. We were not disappointed! The location is absolutely perfect with it's own private beach. It was quiet and just the get away we needed. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the owners could not...
