This African Bush Camp in Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe was booked through the ever helpful Justine at Rhino Africa. We were here the 2nd week of September for 3 nights (I highly recommend a 3 night minimum at any camp). Of the 4 African Bush Camps that we stayed at, (Khwai Tented Camp, Linyanti Bush Camp & Kanga Camp) this...

Somalisa camp (we stayed at Acacia) is just amazing: the accommodations are second to none, service is personal and complete. "Everything that is here is for you. Just ask." The landscape is breathtaking. The animals: the lion prides, elephant herds, loping giraffe, all of it, surreal. And the guides are beyond knowledgeable and truly love to show you their world.

Dear Mike and Pattie Thank you for taking the time to review Somalisa Camp. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your time with us. Cecil's pride are regular visitors to the area, as it was Cecil's territory before his tragic passing. Bhubhesi has caused a bit of drama and has since mated with two of Cecil's lionesses. We try...

What a fantastic place! If you want to see elephant, and lots of them, then this is the place to come to. A very quiet camp (one of two or three but you would never know it) facing a waterhole so the wildlife come to you, and in the case of elephant, right up to the plunge pool. Very high...

Thank you for your stellar review of Somalisa Camp! We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay! You are correct, Somalisa, Somalisa Acacia and Somalisa Expeditions are three sister camps, reasonably close together. However, these three camps are situated on a private concession which spans 1 500 Hectares, resulting in a very private experience. We hope that you will...

You can't go wrong here. The accommodations are fantastic, as are the staff. There is so much wildlife, especially elephants, that comes to the camp and other wildlife is nearby. Our guide, Calvet, was marvelous.

Dear Mike Thank you for taking the time to review Somalisa Camp. We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your time there! Hwange is terribly dry at the moment, and as we pump water into the watering hole (at Somalisa Camp as well as in the surrounding areas), the animal activity at the Somalisa Pan is bustling! This is the home of the late Cecil the Lion and you have a good chance to see his seven Cubs and their four amazing mothers who have kept the pride together under tremendous odds! Elephants galore of all sizes drinking a short distance away and 5 star guides. The facilities are first class and the staff outstanding with special...

Somalisa Acacia is the smaller of the two Somalisa camps in Hwange National Park, both operated by top-notch African Bush Camps. They are adjacent to each other. These are both up-market camps, and I spent 5 nights at Acacia recently. Over a month-long safari in Zimbabwe, this (and the two other ABC camps I visited) were my favorites. The other...

Somalisa has managed to retain the bush camp feel with the perfect level of comfort and luxury with its new makeover.
