We stayed at the Stoneleigh for a long weekend. The owners were very friendly, they even volunteered to drive to 30 miles to pick up my mom from Lake Placid if she got bored watching the Ironman race. The building is interesting, it has the feel of an old castle. Breakfast every morning was more than adequate, including fresh local... More

We just returned from our 4th visit to the Stoneleigh Bed & Breakfast and each time has been memorable. Our son attends a summer camp in nearby Westport and we overnight at Stoneleigh on Parents Weekend. Rosemary, our host, is a very sweet older women who is assisted by her daughter and they could not be more welcoming. Breakfasts are... More

We usually camp while in the Adirondacks and climb-up one of the high peaks' trails, but this year attempted in fall at this beautiful former manor made of stone and stained dark wood. It gives-off a very calming feeling with vintage decor and a lush green property. Our host Rosemary is a sweet older lady who is exceptionally good at... More

The woman greeted us at our car even in the late hour in which we arrived to then invite us in for a short stay filled with great memories! The bathrooms are immaculate. Rooms are quaint but charming. Breakfast accommodations were flexible and had a fabulous assortment of options. The house itself made me feel as if I was in... More

I found the Stoneleigh B&B after searching the website. I was looking for a location that was reasonably close to Lake Placid without the associated expense. Although there were no rooms with a private bath available at the time of my reservation, the host found a guest gracious enough to change rooms. Now that's service!! The house is located off... We chose to stay in Stoneleigh, my friends and I, after a long and exhausting hike of Mount Giant. The house is absolutely beautiful and there is a fire place in every room. The old lady that owns the house is really nice and her step daughter gave us kind of a guided tour with a little bit of history... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
This is a grand old stone home that was built in 1884 by a Judge and his wife, and they spared no expense with the gorgeous woodwork, uniquely carved mantels surrounding the six fireplaces, a Library with its built-in shelves, and the "wow" cathedral ceiling. There are 4 upstairs rooms that share a full bathroom and a half bath, and a Suite downstairs with private bath and Living Room, plus two fireplaces. All are very tastefully and individually decorated and furnished, with big thick comforters to snuggle under on those cold nights. A couple of the rooms even have fireplaces in the room. Breakfast is continental style with fresh-baked muffins, fresh fruit, cereals, breads, and drinks, all included in the low price. Some people have even rented the entire house so everyone visiting can stay together and have a home away from home. Plus, we offer a separate building we affectionately call the "Carriage House", that has it's own kitchenette, living room, bedroom with two double beds, and a full bathroom. So if you're looking for a nice place to stay with nice prices, check us out. And thanks for reading this! ... more   less
