Even on a cold, damp weekend in November I could not have received a warmer welcome and a happier stay. The ensuite room was spotless and cosy with lots of homely touches and the breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. Jackie and Bob could not have been more friendly and obliging. I look forward to returning again.

I stayed at the Colour Mill this weekend , it was such a beautiful property with lots of charm, Jackie and Bob were so very welcoming , the room was very clean with fresh crisp linen on the bed , the shower was hot and powerful and there were fresh sweet peas on the dresser which smelt Devine, tea coffee...

We have just returned from our second stay at Colour Mill. Jackie and Bob are lovely hosts and are always helpful. On the first stay my wife was struggling to walk and they provided her with a walking stick - this was just a small example of their helpfulness. On this visit we received some bad news and they could...

Wonderful hosts - greeting me with the offer of a coffee. Freshly brewed ...and drunk, with a chat, in their conservatory. Jackie and Bob really are wonderful hosts. Slowly, over many years, they've renovated an old stone mill (for grinding the local iron ore to make pigment - hence 'Colour Mill') superbly with old beams and interesting spaces. Outside is...

We had a lovely couple of nights at this homely and comfortable B and B. Jackie and Bob were very welcoming and hospitable. Bob is a mine of imformation about walks in the area and kindly lent us his map. The village is on the southern tip of the Peak District and very convenient for all the main sights and...

We were recommended to this lovely B&B by friends and what a find it was! It is nestled between Ashbourne and Leek by a river in midst the superb walking country of the Peak District. The house is an old iron mill and very thoughtfully designed by the owners Jackie and Bob Pakes. Plenty of space and very comfortable modern...

Located in a lovely position on the southern edge of the Peak National Park. This beautiful converted mill is set in a large beautifully landscaped garden with the river Hamps running alongside. The owners, Bob and Jackie, were very welcoming and straight away made us feel at home in their lovely converted mill and gardens. After sitting down with tea...

The hospitality offered by the owners is excellent, they do all that they can to make your stay comfortable and offer a wealth of knowledge regarding the area, walks and eating establishments. On arrival, we were shown to our accommodation. We had...

We booked this B&B because it is close to Alton Towers but it turned out to be much more than just a B&B. From the warm welcome in the middle of the night to helpful advice for getting around and amazing breakfasts that include conversations as well as some of the best fruit and delicious English Breakfast we had such...
