There aren't enough words to describe this place. Summer's are full of life and family tradition; fall is full of peace, beauty, and tranquillity. We are always here each fall, and have been coming here for nearly twenty years. The perfect place for artists, writers, photographers, and most importantly, family. The folks make you feel like family.

Rustic cabins, working fireplaces with huge wood supply, no phone, TV, or clocks. Beautiful lake front setting. Perfect if you are looking to get away from everything, and are NOT interested in 5 star luxury hotel amenities. No WIFI in cabins, but available in the vicinity of the dock/library area. Limited cell phone coverage. The dining room was completely rebuilt...

My family has been going to the Waldheim for a decade now, having been introduced to it by friends who have been going for over a quarter of a century. Every year is filled with a group of family and friends, both old and new. Don't expect a "big box hotel" experience, there is no plush carpet. fluffy duvet, mint...

If the headline above sounds good, then The Waldheim is for you. It's been in the same family for 5 generations I believe and it's a series of 17 cabins situated on Big Moose Lake in the Adirondacks. It's everything an Adirondack vacation should be. Our cabin was a two minute walk from a beachfront area of the lake (where...

It is impossible to describe how beautiful this camp is. Every cabin is quaint and cozy. The views are amazing, the sounds of loons and owls haunting and soothing at once. This is an all inclusive camp, which is something we don't usually do, but it was worth every cent. One of the amazing staff members walks through the camp...

My parents and grandparents and I began staying at the Waldheim in 1957 when I was 5. My father chose Longview cottage because it is situated on North Bay, a very quiet and peaceful bit of heaven on Big Moose Lake. Gradually, we began booking Cedar Lodge because it had a very long, private dock and a little bit of...

The Waldheim cabins in the wood are run by the fourth generation Martin family and likely will be for a fifth generation. They have been providing a tranquil respite for families since 1903. Lodgers who have come to know and love the Waldheim almost don't want others to discover it's beauty. No TV, phones, or, heavens forbid cell coverage. However,...

We stayed at the Waldheim in late September 2014; when the fall foliage tends to peak. In fact, most of September is a very good time to experience the Adirondack's fall foliage ... the Waldheim closes for the season around Columbus Day, when the foliage is almost all down. We find some of the area restaurants close, or limit their...

In today's over-hyped vacation market, the Waldheim is one of those increasingly rare destinations that have refused to go along with the crowd. I suspect that staying at the venerable Waldheim today is little different from it was in the early 1900's..... rustic Adirondack wood cottages that have not changed in decades (except for electricity). Heated by stone fireplaces, creaking...

This was our first visit to The Waldheim. Interactions while making the reservations were prompt and pleasant. Information was provided about cabins that were available to assist in the decision making and the website is user friendly and informative. I was worried about the food quality and portions but quickly discovered there was not cause for concern. The dinner menu...

“Cabins are rented by returning families for "their" week each, take what you can get at first and then if you like the Waldheim and likely you will, spend Saturday morning on the day you leave looking a each cabin as they are different. We like the cabins on North Bay for tranquility, access to swimming and boating, and just sitting about on the docks & porches.”
