This was our second summer staying at Canoe Island Lodge (CIL). We used to stay at another property nearby, but after trying CIL, we are hooked. First year at CIL we stayed in a small cabin, this year we stayed in the Carriage House, sharing it with friends and it was really great. We were 4 adults and 3 kids...

We stayed in a lovely little cabin with a fireplace (of course it wasn't needed in July) near the main lodge. We had breakfast and dinner there. There was a beautiful buffet the first night where I gorged on raw oysters and shrimp! There were many choices for the food at all meals and there were delicious. The vacation included...

Our children and grandchildren loved it. There was something to do for everyone and all ages, even teens! They all rated it a better vacation than the beach at jersey shore! Food was great. Our waiter fantastic. All of the help were very polite and personable. Nothing was to much. We loved them all. Kids could swim, tub, water ski,...

My wife's family has spent an August week at Canoe Island Lodge every year since 1981. That's 34 years. I married into this vacation 21 years ago. My children and my wife's sisters' children have grown up looking forward to and enjoying this vacation each year. And now five grandchildren have joined in the fun. Why do we go back...

So Canoe Island was a bit of a letdown. It fell short in certain areas. Being a non-repeat customer, my review is unbiased. The setting is beautifully centered on the lake. There is massive customer loyalty here. Repeat customers for 10, 20 years. This is a place people grew up with. But I think that is where it's downfall begins....

We vacationed here the summer of 2010, so this review is a bit late, but we had such a great experience I just had to write this. We're a family of four and our kids were 10 and 6 at the time. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food was outstanding. There was so much to do at CIL...

This Lodge exceeded my expectations. The meals were excellent and the staff was very friendly. I must mention Carla who whenever I had contact with her she went out of her way to help A great place for families with plenty of activities for the kids. They have a private Island which is accessed by a shuttle boat all day...

If you are looking for a simple, safe, family oriented location on Lake George for a vacation, the Canoe Island Loge is a very good pick. The log cabins/lodges are right on the lake with a small beach. In additon, the Lodge has it's own private island right in Lake George. They offer free sailing, etc. Activities for kids. Breakfast...

I have been to CIL over ten times--and each time is great. The lake is beautiful and clean. I learned to water ski and sail on this lake. Breakfast and dinner are included, while lunch is available for purchase. I'd recommend eating lunch at the Windjammer. The hotel owns their own island, and owns many boats which can take you...

My family loves to spend time at Lake George each summer. We usually go to the Sagamore every year but found it hard to pay $1,000 night for a room that accommodates 4 people comfortably so we decided to try something new. We don't like the chaos of Lake George Village so we found Canoe Island Lodge in Diamond Point,...
