I have stayed at numerous Embassy Suites over the years, and I even worked at one years ago (before it was owned by Hilton). I have never been so disappointed in an Embassy Suites stay, then I was at the Syracuse Carrier Circle property. To highlight the issues...lack of housekeeping. When asked for housekeeping, we were told flat out that it wasn't available for 2-night stays...only for 5 nights or more. We were told this was Hilton's new policy and a result of Covid (a VERY tired excuse). Ironically the person telling me this was not wearing a mask. I had several family members staying at the Homewood Suites (also a Hilton property) just 5 mins away and they were offered daily housekeeping if they wanted. Tip to the hotel: Quit using the Covid excuse and a loose "corporate policy" to deny service to customers. It's tacky and obvious it's just an excuse to increase margins…nothing else. Since we were denied housekeeping, we did ask for a fresh set of towels from the rep at the front desk on Saturday morning, but they were never delivered. Also, on Friday night we asked for a set of sheets for the pull-out sofa bed. We were told we could come down to the desk to get them. Tip to the hotel: Don't ask a guest to do something the hotel should do. Simple solution…keep an extra set of sheets in the closet. Breakfast...probably one of the WORST breakfast ever eaten. Fruit was picked over and consisted of melon in a syrup and bruised apples. Omelet was overcooked, and “Special of the Day,” Avocado Toast, consisted of some unrecognizable gray spread, tomatoes, wilted spinach and bacon on a piece of bread. No avocados. Pastries, etc. were also picked over. Finally... when we originally checked in, we inquired about a Diamond upgrade at check-in and was told a very entertaining line. “The hotel was recently remodeled and all the rooms are upgraded.” Huh?!?! Any seasoned traveler, who is likely Diamond, would be able to read right though that. Don’t insult our intelligence. A much better line would have been, "We would love to upgrade you Mr. Ray for your Diamond Status, but we are sold out and therefore don't have any rooms to upgrade you to. We do apologize." I would have fully accepted this honesty...not some cheesy line about every room is "upgraded." Also, the A/C in the room did not work, so we enjoyed a nice warm and stuffy room (windows don't open). I'm really sorry to see this property so poorly managed. When I mentioned this to friends and family, they were shocked since Embassy Suites typically are good quality, however, not the Syracuse Carrier Circle property. Look around, there's tons of better options, such as Homewood Suites, which was quite nice, DoubleTree, Hampton, etc.…
If you haven't stayed at this property recently, by all means GO! During renovations, the inside of the hotel was gutted and beautifully rebuilt. The staff went above and beyond my expectations. The made-to-order breakfast, including omelettes and the fluffiest of pancakes, was memorable. Beautiful, clean, bright, friendly-- the Best! Thanks.
Enjoyed an overnight stay at the Embassy Suites. Room was fabulous with living area, work space, little kitchen set up that had mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Bed was super comfortable! Lovely bathroom. The redesign of the hotel is fabulous. Truly a wonderful value for a great stay. Breakfast was fabulous with omelette station, made to order eggs and pancakes as well as hot table, fresh fruit, cereals and pastries. We will definitely stay again on our next visit to Syracuse! Only thing we missed was nibbles at happy hour.
I am a 20YR Diamond member and travel a great deal. This is by far the worst hotel I have stayed in. The first room I was given was filthy, the toilet was recently used and not cleaned, pubic hair everywhere, sink and counters had food and such on/in them, linens were not changed. Second room after complaining was not as bad bud still was not clean to the standards I have come to expect. The facility itself was unvacuumed, garbage cans full everywhere and overflowing, the pool was cloudy and full of hair balls and other things (did NOT go in), breakfast was out of foods - they ran out of food!. The final and worst part was that the room did not have air conditioning - it was 78 degrees and the window would not open!! Front desk told me its either heat or AC - their system cant do both. Emailed the manager of the facility and she never followed through.......…
Great location, fun happy hour and great breakfast in the morning. Kitchen staff is friendly and comical, also very accommodating to my dietary restrictions. Love my stays at this hotel ❤️ and I don’t plan on staying at another hotel when I’m in Syracuse, NY.
Very nice huge room...super comfy bed ...Spotless! Happy hour with free drinks.Bartender was super nice. Custom omelettes for breakfast..Top notch chef. Wonderful helpful ,friendly staff. I will definitely book this location again.
We are 100% Hilton all the way, however our stay at this location was not one of our best. Rooms not super clean and phones did not work. Breakfast was the highlight of our stay, but not enough to have us come back.
Great hotel. Friendly staff. Clean throughout including rooms. Love the open atrium style. 2 complimentary drinks for the hotel bar Fri and Sat night. Although bar menu is small, wings were very good.
Reliable accommodations. Always a pleasure to stay at this property. The rooms are lovely and spacious. Breakfast offering is well above average. Love the atrium and open feeling. Look forward to next time.
Very nice hotel, first time staying here it was for a HS Varsity Hockey trip, couldn't hear any of the players as they roamed around which was expected. Bar food was great, complimentary breakfast and omelette bar was good.
