The hotel was ok overall but there were several major issues. First the air conditioner in our room did not work well at all . Stayed warm in room no matter what temperature we set it too. Second the shower curtain was very dirt with brown stains all over it. Third and most important was their pool. It was very green and not well taken care of. There were safety signs saying adults needed for supervision of children. But when I was in the pool with my child a group of 8 kids came in without adults. They immediately started jumping , pushing , and diving in the pool. I had to leave the pool because it was not safe for my child. I went and reported this to the hotel staff at front desk and the lady looked at the camera and said looks like there is adult in there with them. That is all she did. We checked the pool an hour later and the 8 kids were still in there by themselves horse playing and being dangerous. Clearly hotel staff does not care. Definitely liability waiting to happen.…

This is one of the best stays we have had at the Holiday Inn chain. Great value using points. Place is modern, clean, and most important our sleep was excellent thanks to quality king size bed, on a very quiet dark room. Vastly superior to our recent stay at the nearby Holiday Inn in Liverpool (Syracuse). The free breakfast had superb heated cinnamon rolls and tasty mixed veggie omelets plus good coffee. The juice dispenser was not working and remained out of order despite prompt intervention by the front desk team. The maintenance man was called but we left contentedly after a second cup of coffee. A perhaps plumbing issue behind our bathroom wall where loud drips greeted us at 6 am for a few minutes. Room 124. Will definitely return to this excellent Holiday Inn for its comfort and great location just off the freeway. The town of Cortland has a gem of a pub restaurant nearby, called Hairy Tony’s making this overnight location a no brainer.…

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Cortland for one night. The location is immediately off the highway, with lots of fast food places close by. It is about 7 minutes from SUNY Cortland, so perfect for parents visiting their kids. Lobby area was immaculate and looked brand new. Room was a little dated, but we booked through a 3rd party and got a low rate, so it's likely we got an older room. Only downside was the rooms with 2 beds had double beds instead of queens. The breakfast was excellent... Eggs, sausage, pancakes, warm cinnamon rolls, premade omelets, all kinds of yogurts and cereals, and all included in the room rate. We would definitely stay there again!

We enjoyed our 2 night stay. Friendly staff. Our room was very clean. Comfortable king bed and pillows. Nice sized bathroom with thick, soft towels. The free breakfast was good, with many choices. Great location. Close to a Perkins Restaurant, which we easily walked to.

The staff was amazing. We stayed up for a graduation weekend. they went above and beyond. The front desk was amazing. The breakfast was good and they cleaned everything as soon a table was empty. the rooms were very clean. the added bonus they gave us a good bag in our room when we checked in and on graduation day they gave us a teddy bear with class of 22 on it

Noisy and busy. Great location. Easy check in our room too close to social breakfast area. Very clean really comfortable beds and pillows. Nice breakfast and helpful staff. Would not recommend a first floor room. Very noisy until midnight and as early as 7.

We were in the area for a few days and, judging by mostly favorable reviews, decided to try this place. Since the Covid-19 pandemic is still an issue, we're very concerned with cleanliness. Most hotels are going out of their way to keep their buildings and rooms as clean as possible so imagine our surprise to find a used coffee pod from a previous traveler still in the Keurig machine. The TV remote is supposed to be sanitized and placed in a zip lock bag; ours was lying on the table NEXT TO the zip lock bag. So, how well WAS our room cleaned? We also had some unexpected guests in our room: ants! On the 3rd floor? What's THAT all about? Lastly, the morning we were checking out we had no hot water. Not too bad if all you want to do is brush your teeth but I wanted to take a shower (which I could not). Good thing I wasn't going to a wedding or something like that. I can't blame the girl at the front desk; it's not her fault. But I filed a complaint with her and never heard from the manager. Overall, very disappointing! …

I have stayed in many Holiday Inn Express hotels and am always satisfied-not too expensive, basic, standard, good. But this one in Cortland appears to skimp a bit. The water in the bathroom sink gets warm but not hot. The water in the shower gets hot but not enough. The shower stream is like that of a sink or tub - very old shower head and because of this it flodds the floor. You can tell this is a long standing problem because the caulking is off on the wall where the water flows out. Even the trash cans seem a little smaller as are the shampoo and conditioner. There is no long bureau to place all of your stuff, there was no luggage rack and there is a card table size table in the corner with a chair, three bath towels not four, etc. For a couple traveling it felt skimpy. But to be positive the staff greeted us warmly were polite the bed was comfortable and it was quiet. Not a bad place but could use some enhancements.…

Day before decided to go to the annual Pumpkin Fest in Cortland, NY. Needed a place to stay so this was a last minute find. It was very nice, received a friendly welcome and was convenient to the festival. Shout out to Sharon who worked the breakfast area and was super friendly. She made everyone feel right at home!

At first glance, this place looks fine. But when you book a king with sofa bed for 3 people, the sofa bed should have sheets. It didn’t. And at 10pm arrival, they did not have anyone in the hotel who would or could make it up. Probably better since popcorn was in an under the couch. After prodding, they comp’d a 2nd Room. Rooms just not kept up. Dirty phone, dirty ac unit, dirty shower head, slow draining sink. Phone had no cord but it wasn’t cordless! Mgt can easily fix these things. They should.

Dear Guest: This hotel complies was all IHG Standards, including the requirement that sofa beds are not made up since most sofa beds are rarely used as such. However, all necessary bedding is in the closet and on request, we gladly help any guest that requests help with making up a sofa bed. In your case, our auditor chose to supply you with a complimentary room to make your daughter more comfortable since in most cases, sofa beds are far from the ideal solution.
