For some reason the hotels in the Cortland area are very expensive. In comparison, the Red Roof Inn is a deal. Do note the property is in transition as it is being updated. Still, the rooms, though simple, are clean and orderly. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Coffee in the room and at the front desk -- front desk coffee is to be preferred. No other food at the moment. Parking is right next to the motel/hotel, though it is a bit dark. The Inn is located right off of I81, and on the edge of town though very close to the center of the city. Plenty of restaurants nearby. This is a basic but good property, especially given the rate. The staff sparkle. Would stay again. If you need a basic place to stay in Cortland, and don't want to spend a fortune, this is the place.…
I just stayed one night as I was picking up a camper at a nearby dealership. The room was clean and warm which was nice since it was so cold out on the day of check in. From the front desk staff to house keeping the staff was friendly.
I had stayed here before and while I love Red Roof, this had not been a favorite. However this time,it was very quiet,no weird characters outside and everything worked well, including hot water. Peoople have said the wifi did not work but it was fine. I will say Rosie at the front desk was amazing. I ususally book and ADA room and forgot to this time. And I thought I had booked at a lower rate. She waited while I called the main 800 number and they confirmed that I had 'goofed'. She was able to give me a room on the first floor with refrigerator and microwave. She was also out of bottled water, but we arranged I could pick it up the next night. She was re-markedly calm when I was upset! So thank you Rosie! The two people who cleaned the room did a great job! I always wonder what housekeeping thinks since (I travel with a pet) when I cover the bed because of the dog (she's crated but not all night). I did enjoy the stay tho I do worry wiht the back door not being secure.…
We spent 1 night here as we had a wedding in town. Check in was easy, and we checked in earlier than time allowed. Room was cleaned and comfortable. The AC worked great. Easy access to main road. There was a speedway near by.
This property is close to the Interstate exit, and consists one, older, double wide, two storey building, in a large lot. There is not a lot of trees, and bushes, but there is o lot of green areas. When I checked in, I was assigned a ground floor king, right near a side entrance. My king room had the bed, side tables, work station, easy chair, console, containing a mini fridge, and micro, and a wall mounted TV. All the furnishings were dated, but in good condition. There was no breakfast area, but were a number of restaurants nearby The room had a coffee unit, and coffee was available 24 hrs., in the lobby. The Hotel provided a quiet, comfortable night'...Jerry...Paris...Ontario...Canada
Fortunately the room was clean, which is the most important, one bed was poor, sank as you got in it. NO INTERNET!!!!!!!! I do not have a smart phone and need the internet. We arrived early, not much to do in town, so could not do any searching in the room, had to sit in the lobby which is exactly as pictured, two chairs and a table and candy machine. No breakfast, which most places provide now.
At first glance this place looked scary. abandoned and unkept. The motel had people fighting with each other outside. A woman was banging on the outside window. The internet didn't work in the room, and the manager tried to blame it on my apple computer. We didn't sleep because neighbors on both sides partied all night with loud voices and television. I didn't feel safe at all and would never stay here again. They must house the homeless/drug community. Run away from this one!
I have stayed at this Red Roof many times, and I find it convenient and comfortable. Always clean, the beds are great, and the heating/ac works well. There is usually a good sized desk as well, but not this time! The desk was a curious, very small, wall-mounted platform that also held the coffee maker, and information binder. There was barely room for my laptop!! To make matters worse, the only outlet nearby was underneath the desk - ok for my laptop, but the cord for the coffee maker didn't reach it! Then, in the morning, I discovered that my computer battery was nearly dead - the outlet didn't even have any power!!! Not good - reported the problem to the desk when I checked out.
I stayed at the red roof inn on 4-12- 2019 property number RRI 865. I want to thank Mikhail Who checked me in that evening. He was the most pleasant young man I have ever met, very accommodating and sweet personality ! Also I had the pleasure to meet Kathy who also was a lot of help, pleasant personality and an all round nice person. The both of them are a true asset to your company. They made my stay pleasurable. I feel you are lucky to have them as employees. It is truly nice to see such accommodating people working the front desk. Sincerely yours,Carmela Wolfarth
