Parked our car in the lot of this Motel and easily walked to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Doubleday Field. It's located on a street with beautiful residential Victorian Houses. It reminds me of Motels from my childhood. Beds with a bathroom. But with cable TV and Free WI-FI. A little pricey at $ 171.00 per night. but worth it as we didn't have to worry about paying for parking in downtown Cooperstown. That entire town is themed around baseball and it's protected from outside commercial businesses getting located too close to it.

Lodging in Cooperstown is “difficult “ - lots of visitors for the baseball and opera attractions, and not much in the way of hotels etc. this is our 3rd visit and we are still searching for a place we’d want to return to. The Mohican provides the basics in reasonable comfort and is close to downtown which makes it easy to walk into town multiple times per day The issue is the rooms smell musty/moldy/mildewy ( now that we are home we will have to wash everything to remove the smell) We mentioned this to the woman in the office. She said she’d look into it. Other TA reviews have mentioned so she either doesn’t read the reviews or she doesn’t care or has no interest in resolving. There is a TA sign in the front office, btw. We would never stay at Mohican again. They are, however, sold out every night during the season Why didn’t we change hotels as soon as we noticed the smell? You are required to pay in advance, no refund. P.S. the free high speed Internet is very slow

Getting the money and no heart is forcing me to tell the people who look at this they might want to go somewhere else. We booked this hotel a month ago through booking.com. Our elderly parent had a emergency heart issue and we had to change our travel itineraries. Booking tried to get a refund but hotel said no. We called and said we understand the policy, but could we get a credit for a later date and was told emphatically “no.” Now we understand that it was a no cancellation policy, and they have a right to deny, but to be so cold hearted and not be comprising, by partial or full credit is very poor customer focus. When the dollar greed overrides their heart, we can’t recommend this place. A kind gesture would have been welcomed and we would have come back for 3 nights, not 1. Sad.

This place is awful, these good reviews are wrong. Place smelled horrible, was trying to put something over my face while I breathed because it was so bad. Not sure how it passes inspections, place was filthy, and we were afraid to fall asleep. Cobwebs in the curtains, ants on ceilings,,,horrible.

Dour desk agent, room smelled more than musty—-like 1000 people had slept there without the window ever opened. TV was a gorgeous huge screen flat model—but no cable or antennae. All I could get was terrible YouTubes. Close to town, but would never stay there again. Not cheap either.

We had one night at the Mohican while visiting Cooperstown and were happy with the accommodations. It’s about 8 blocks from Main Street -it’s not a far walk -especially for us New Yorkers. And the trolley stops right outside the motel which was a help when coming back from a nice evening of shopping and visiting the Hall of Fame. The room was clean and happy to have a nice size parking space right outside the room. The air conditioner worked very well. I do think it would have been nice to know about the YouTube tv issue before we checked in but since we were only there one night, it wasn’t really a problem. Thank you Celeste for your hospitality! Hope to see you again on our next trip!

would keep me from booking again. I had not noticed that was the case when I booked this place. Like the reviewer below me, I understand the principle that caused the proprietor to end having cable, but I simply much prefer live TV and I think it's a detriment to return visits from guests.I rated it a 3 instead of a 4 because of this. On positive notes, it's a great location to get to the HOF and the owner is a very nice lady, very helpful too.Good value for the area.

The pros: Hotel is an easy half mile walk from Baseball Hall of Fame and there is a trolly stop right in front of it. It is quiet and clean. The cons: There is only Youtube television provided on a smart tv. According to a flyer provided, the owner took issue with the price their cable company was charging without including ESPN. While I respect an individual's decision to ditch cable, it's not a decision that I would expect from a hotel. If we knew not to expect it before we booked it wouldn't have been as annoying. Second issue was an astonishing bright set of lights on a charging station. It was 2' away from the bed in this tiny room. If you like a very dark room, forget it. I did not want to unplug it as the refrigerator and air were plugged into it. Not the biggest issues, but still irritating.

The Mohican Motel was clean and adequate. The price was very reasonable. It is not a luxury accommodation, but for a friendly and convenient place to stay it’s just right. Families traveling will find the suites perfect.
