Customer serviceWe were in town for a wedding we had to book our accommodations in October. Call to see if we could check in a day early was told we could but had to check out at 11 to recheck in at three for the rooms we had reserved. At the end of my stay I checked to stay longer never did receive toilet paper fresh towels bedroom never made. Talk to other people at hotel had similar experience never saw anyone never saw a smile very rude. I had the photos of the bugs in the window sales was told they were on the water and they were normal

Stayed here for my sons wedding which was in the area. Had a family of 16 stay. We all loved it. The staff of the hotel were all friendly. With staff shortages today, I did not see this here. The room fairys, as I called them, used their magic abilities to get the room back to the day we arrived. They had their hands full with all the dresses and shoes strewn everywhere. Rooms were clean and well kept. The restaurant and staff, again well staffed, friendly, accommodating and super fun. Food was delicious. Walking distance to HOF and many other sites to see. I didn't need to leave though because the view of the lake and the mountains while I sat in the Adirondack chairs or at the restaurant, was more than enough for me to relax and recharge after a few busy and beautiful days. I cant wait to go again and see what I now call my friends at the the Lake Front. They WERE WONDERFUL!!

Serene lake front setting allowed stress to melt away. Friendly staff, very clean room. Exactly as advertised. About 2 short blocks to Main St and the Baseball Hall of Fame. I’d imagine it is even a better motel in season when the restaurant and boat tour is operating.

Disgusting absolutely disgusting. Whatever you do, don't stay here. The room reeked of disgusting chemical odor from covid cleaning. gave me a headache. There is no one to talk to other than someone in an intercom. I checked out at 7:00am with a headache from the odor and requested a refund for the second night because I just couldn't stand another night in this disgusting hotel. No one cared. N not even the manager. He won't speak with you. He has an email and does not return his emails. Don't bother with this dump of a hotel. It was my first trip to Cooperstown and I won't be going back ever again because of this disgusting hotel. Disgusting staff. Disgusting manager. Disgusting hotel.

Response from Tulsa Lepetich, General Manager at Lake Front Hotel
Responded 17 Oct 2021
Let’s set the record straight. Our main office is open from 8 am to 9 pm with staff available 24 hours a day for any real issues any guest may have. All rooms are cleaned, disinfected and sanitized per all recommendations from the CDC and Health Department. We take cleanliness very seriously and go above and beyond especially during this pandemic. All furniture is pulled daily, walls are washed several times throughout the season and all bedding is washed prior to all check- ins. All rooms are checked by management following housekeeping and prior to guests checking in by management. Our cleaning, disinfecting and sanitizing solutions are hospital grade and have no odor other than clean. To say that the smell of clean made our hotel disgusting is far fetched at best. The said guest, Jennifer, checked in at 12:57 pm, two hours prior to check in time, as we do our best to accommodate everyone’s early arrivals. From that time until the office closed at 9 pm nothing was every said about any issue. 8 hours to contact staff. At 7 am, again the office opens at 8 am, she contacted our staff and stated she was checking out a day early. When she was told there would be no refunds for an early check out she complained about the cleaner. Management and housekeeping went to the room upon their arrival to investigate the complaint. There was no smell which wasn’t to anyones surprise. The guest prior and following her did not have the same issues. Cooperstown in the off season is quite quiet and the guest saw all she wanted to see and drove home feeling she deserved a refund for checking out early. When making a reservation both parties enter a contract. We lived up to our end of the contract and she didn’t want to live up to hers and it’s sad that our business of 66 years is being bashed for being clean. All prior reviews clearly state our reputation of cleanliness.

The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. We asked for a couple small items and were accomodated with a smile and lovely conversation. Anything we wanted was within walking distance. I had to use 200 characters so I wrote this extra sentence.

Location was great, just two blocks to Baseball Hall of Fame and Main Street with its shops and restaurants. Room was clean and comfortable. We saw staff cleaning outside every day too (steps, walkways, etc.) Great having a restaurant on site. Also offered free boat tour for one guest from their dock. Boat ride was very pleasant and probably the cleanest boat I was ever on! Short ride to Farmers Museum and Fenimore Art Museum. Only several miles to Fly Creek Cider Mill and less than an hour to Howes Cavern. We will definitely return!

The location was great,on the lake and a pretty two-block walk to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Though our room was quite small and lacked amenities as refrigerators and microwaves,it was the cleanest room in which we've ever stayed, other than on a cruise ship. Many might consider it a renovated motel room. However, location and cleanliness matters most to me. Also,we were each given a $5 off breakfast coupon, and their adjacent restaurant on the waterfront certainly won hands down over the big hotel chains' "free" breakfasts. Finally,I enjoyed sitting in the waterfront chairs and walking the neighborhood and attractive town.
