We really enjoyed the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel. Great location, which made for an easy walk to the main section of Clayton. Also a nice view of the St Lawrence River. The grounds are very pretty. The rooms are comfortable with nice amenities. The only downside was the pillows were not standard size (smaller) and didn’t have a lot of loft, so I had to stack them to get comfortable, and had to continually adjust them throughout the night. I would stay at the 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel again (we plan to return next year) and would recommend it to others.
Can’t beat the view! Comfortable room with interesting layout. Suggestions: put coffee makers in the rooms. I travel with my own decaf coffee and decaf tea, so all I need is hot water. Having coffee on each floor at the elevators is not what I expected from a four star hotel. Front desk could not tell me in advance whether decaf would be available the next morning on our floor. They told me if there wasn’t decaf on my floor, to go down to the front desk and ask for some. Coffee is important to a lot of people in the morning, so make it easy for them. Was disappointed there wasn’t a microwave, although the front desk said if I wanted one, they would bring one up. One elevator was out of order. Would have liked more towel bars. I would suggest more carts at the front door as some people have a lot of luggage. We had to wait until a cart was returned. These are all issues that can be easily fixed.…
Beautiful Hotel, great amenities, wonderful staff , and a great location 😀 You never even have to leave the Hotel, such beautiful views and a great outdoor patio with a large Firepit!!Food was delicious and Bar had great cocktail choices!! We will definitely be back !
Our visit was in mid-September, so while after Labor Day, not mid-winter. The staff was terrific, although having to deal with grumpy people who thought walking to the fourth floor a bit too much to ask was likely wearing. One elevator was down nearly the entire weekend and the other for a period on one day. Additionally, we had no warm water on last morning. The food and beverage team was also terrific, but the restaurant showed signs of having been understocked.
This hotel is beautiful. From the front desk to the bartenders to the wait staff. All were amazing. Rooms are beautiful. The hotel is basically surrounded by water. Beautiful firepits overlooking the water. Walk into small town area. Walk along the path that follows the river. We so enjoyed our stay and recommend it to anyone visiting the area. We also visited Alexandria Bay and much prefer this hotel in Clayton, New York.
Hotel is beautiful and perfectly located. Staff were awesome! They made for a perfect weekend. Loved the two sit-around fire pits on the patio facing the river, and close to the bar. Could have used one more firepit, cause they were crowded. : )
Located right on the water in Clayton. Great views of the St. Lawrence. Right beside all the shops. Loved the coffee by the elevators in the morning, this is a great idea. We sat out on the large back patio, there are firepits going at night and great views during the day. A little on the pricey side but worth the extra.
Had a horrid experience with our river view balcony room. Spiders and cobwebs galore all the way to the inside of room even on the inside curtains and glass slider. Apparently they didn’t spray this year. Bed sheets were soiled and never changed. Ice build up in freezer so door wouldn’t close. Toilet paper holder fell off wall. No Kleenex available as order “wasn’t in yet”. Visible mold in bathroom. Disgusting! Sink didn’t drain. It was just one thing after another. For a four star Diamond hotel, this is unacceptable! The front desk did all they could for us but housekeeping is absolutely not working! These rooms should all be checked before being occupied. Clayton is such a lovely place to visit, so much has been done in the town to improve it snd yet this hotel has gone down hill in a ridiculous way. They need to earn their diamonds back!…
Thousand Islands is a beautiful area and the 1000 Islands hotel in Clayton is the best hotel in the area. Very spacious rooms with window seats overlooking the St. Lawrence. The hotel has a nice restaurant with a large covered outdoor space. It is a short walk along the boardwalk to downtown restaurants and shops.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Many thoughtful amenities, but no microwave. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
