The original room we were given had a broken lock. Next room had a funky musty smell. It was the best they had. Seems like the place is in desperate need of an update or very deep clean. Very skimpy on bathroom towels. 2 bath 2 hand no wash clothes and we were 3 people in the room. We will consider other options next time in the area.

We stopped for our first night on our way to Disney. We got there at 3pm none of the rooms were ready because housekeeping hadn’t put their clean rooms in the system yet. I was told to come back in 15 minutes, and then again in another 15 minutes. Which I don’t mind but they should work on their system. At the hotel I used to work at we would call them in as we went. The room was very clean. Beds were comfy. We were on the top floor, last room at the end of the hallway, it was super quiet! Breakfast was included but no eggs and bacon like the pictures on here but they had bagels, English muffins, cold breakfast sandwiches that you could reheat in your room microwave, muffins, juices, fruits, yogourt. The staff was very nice!

How do I start? Room rug was so dirty that the bottom of my and my friend’s feet were black. Shower tub was so high you could hardly step over. After you did manage to scale the mountain, then be careful not to slip in the shower. Bathtub floor had no grip and handle for support was at the far end on the shower. We went out and bought a floor mat and support handle. There is no maid service so we needed to go to the front desk to ask for toilet paper, towels and Kleenex. We were on the way out for dinner but they asked us if we wanted them to take it to our room. They advertise heated indoor pool….when finding the water cold and asking about the temperature of the water, they stated they heat the room and not the water. The Chlorine odor was so bad I could not stay anyway.

The hotel was overbooked leaving our room with out clean towels. The maids never cleaned the room and dropping off complementary coffee, cups and glasses, the bed was not made or the floor vacuumed We were told “the hotel was at max capacity that meant there were no clean towels” , how does that make any sense??!! Especially in this day and age when we are trying to prevent spread of disease?! Im blaming corporate management! Not the poor kid behind the counter, giving out the pat excuse, not his fault! Maybe i’ll onondaga county health dept., for one! How is using dirty towels and wash cloths sanitary?! Plus…$215 a night! Not a cheap place to stay. They said they’re full mainly because of the NYS fair! Well fair is EVERY year so here is a suggestion… ORDER more TOWELS! DO the LAUNDRY! Just dont come up short towels again, like reusing toilet paper

Breakfast area was disgusting. Dirty condiment bowls, i could tell because they were always empty! Food that was dropped on floor during our stay was shoved off into corners and left there for days. Leftover breakfast sausages were obviously reheated as the days went on they grew darker and rubbery. Constantly having to ask for more coffee to be made as they were always empty!! Good news. The front desk staff were very nice, especially the young man that was there. Sorry did not get his name.

First the positives; clean fluffy comforter, friendly helpful staff, and the housekeeper who does her best. The rest pretty much blows. The owner is a cheapskate who, when upgrades are absolutely required, chooses to downgrade instead. A good example is the sheets, which are as one-ply as the bath paper, and skimpiness with towels, as mentioned in other reviews. Room coffee cups are maybe 6 ounces, way too small. These individually wrapped cups can also be found in the breakfast area, a cheap replacement for the expected stack of good-sized cups. Lids were quickly used up, and not replaced. Apparently, the sheers in our stinky room had needed replacing, which was done with way-too-long ones, probably hiked from the conference room. They hung down over the a/c unit to the floor, so we could not use them. The curtains are over 30 years old and need replacing, along with the carpet, as they harbor the odor of past smoking rooms. The stink of the hotel is the worst part. The hallways have a sickly chemical smell, the carpet likely layered in years of smoke and air freshener. The rooms are the same. Replace the damn carpet already. And, as another reviewer mentioned, the sofa-beds are heavily stained and have thin 30-year-old coil mattresses that no one can sleep on. We bought a 3-inch foam topper with fresh sheet and comforter set to make-do. The corner of the bed had been sat on one too many times, and several springs were missing, making the bed pretty much unusable. It was awful. We opened up the cardboard box from the topper to help keep the 'mattress' from sinking to the floor. We wanted to move to the Holiday Express next door, but they were booked, as you might expect. One of the biggest clues about the nature of this joint is that none of the beds have mattress covers. You know they don't give a hoot about anything when they don't bother protecting expensive mattresses, which are now stained up and just plain gross. NEVER AGAIN.

The hotel is dirty, overpriced and very poorly maintained. The walls are paper thin so be prepared to hear other residents talking, shouting and their dogs barking. The phrase that comes to mind immediately is Disgusting. Will never stay here again and strongly recommends all others to look elsewhere, anywhere but here.

This was a rough one. My husband and I have stayed here many times over the last 8 years, since we can’t stay with family in town due to pet allergies. It’s always been fine. Not fancy, not amazing, but fine. This time around, things were really subpar. Although the staff was friendly, basically everything went wrong. 1. We got in late on Thursday night and I checked the bed, as I always do, and found a huge stain on the mattress (pictured). After close examination, we determined it had to be coffee or something similar, and decided to just deal with it. It was past midnight and we were exhausted. I reported it the next day so as not to get charged for it, and was told “this hotel is closing and changing over to a new chain in a few months so everything will be new soon.” That’s nice for everyone else, but does that mean things are just going to get worse until then? 2. The next day, I took a shower and found the water was just barely tepid. Meanwhile my husband’s shower alternated between icy and scalding. 3. Here’s the big one: at 3:30 am on our second night there, the phone rang. Startled awake, I answered, only to hear that it was a “scheduled wake-up call.” When I went downstairs to the desk the next morning I asked how this could have happened, the person at the desk said that it “must have been kids playing around upstairs” and they “were really sorry, but yes, they did put in a wake-up call for our room.” We don’t have kids, and how they thought it seemed appropriate to take instruction from a random child, I don’t know. We did not sleep well that night. Or any night of the stay, really. 4. The next night our keycards stopped working. 5. The last morning, I couldn’t find anyone to check out with, so l left the keys at the desk. Hope that was allowed! While we were waiting, there were another couple of people also waiting there because their keycards stopped working too. 6. The elevator was out of order on our last morning there. I don’t mind walking, but I don’t particularly want to lug all my bags up three flights of stairs. Luckily we were already on our way out by then and only had to walk down the stairs. And then some general comments: - the bed was not comfortable. I woke up with aches and pains, and the pillows felt incredibly cheap. - the bathroom didn’t look super clean. - I could hear all the conversations clearly in the room next to ours, and it sounded like their bathroom wasn’t clean, either. We’re not fussy about noise, but if you’re looking for a quiet, private stay, just know that this is probably not it. - the water pressure of the lukewarm shower was not good. - you have to request housekeeping if you want it. We don’t typically utilize housekeeping during our stay, but if this matters to you, you might want to book elsewhere. Actually, that’s kind of the summary of this stay: you might want to book elsewhere.

Rooms are large, comfortable and very quiet. Breakfast was the usual fare and good. If you are in or around Syracuse I hightly recommend this hotel for your next stay. As Arnold said I'll be back!

Comfort Inn Cicero ticked all the boxes for our team’s stay: affordable, clean rooms, great gathering space, nice hot breakfast and a pool to relax. Best of all, the staff was very accommodating; opening breakfast early to support our early departure to games, and allowing us to use the breakfast space for a team pot luck dinner. We will book again the next time we play in Syracuse!
