My wife and I stayed in the royal suite. It was a WONDERFUL experience. Scott showed us every nook and cranny of the castle, boat house and the whole island. We had the run of the castle while we were there and the bed room accommodations were everything you could imagine. Be advised the Castle does provide a light dinner... More

We paid $35 (including ferry cost from Schermerhorn) per person to visit the castle. It is guided tour only (< 1 hour); so every step and every moment is limited. Due to this limitation, it is impossible to appreciate the beauty of the castle from other angle. Stepping into the lawn or looking to the other side of the island... More

OMG!! We loved it. The trip began with a boat ride from Schermerhorn Harbor with Captain Glen. We arrived at Singer Castle and were immediately welcomed to Dark Island. Our tour guide Zack, provided an excellent tour. He was very pleasant and extremely knowledgeable in the history of the castle. The tour began with the entrance to "The Great Hall,"... More

The castle is amazing. A weekend stay for two couples is perfect because there are only two hotel suites. Dinner is included but it's best to take your own food to supplement if you want something more than a huge salad. Breakfast is like from a gas bar but fine just the same. The boat house is rumoured to have... More

Excellent stay in the castle. Dinner was very filling. The cheesecake was delicious! Our room was big and very pleasant. Had a great cross breeze. Both tours that we had were awesome! Scott, the caretaker, was very thorough and passionate about the castle. The best part was having total access to the castle foe the rest of the night! The... More

Great 45 min tour of the castle. What a site to see. Beautiful. The tour guides are Informative. Would highly recommend. We took our own boat out there and the attendants did a great job securing boat. Great views

Imagine this: a man you never met before- a complete stranger- delivers you by boat to a nearly deserted island. One which has a castle on it. Light conversation on the trip over reveals that the castle has a live-in caretaker, and, mirroring Stephen King's novel The Shining, this man stays alone in the castle for months during the winter,... I found this place full of interesting information. Secret passages, paintings where the eyes could be removed to see into a room. Gorgeous buildings, and grounds, wish I could have saw more, or walked thru at my own pace. Two down falls, one you can't take any pictures inside the castle, and the $, but really it's worth every cent.
