The property has peeling paint, no air condition, no elevators, and no TV's. On a hot summer night, all that could be done was to open the window and point the one small floor fan directly towards the bed. The rooms have not had any upgrades in years and years. In addition, our room was not clean. The bathroom had...

I have a soft spot for hotels like the Lenhart that have been around since the 1880's and are still run by founding families - the wide porch with rocking chairs, rooms with flowered wall paper and no televisions or phones. It's like spending a night in a museum with no air-conditioning or elevators. You wonder why the sink is...

I chose to stay in the very economical top floor room with shared bath. The room was absolutely charming. Two windows facing the lake, Cabbage rose wallpaper and comfortable double bed. The bath, complete with claw foot tub was immaculate. Breakfast was ample and served by lovely young women working their way through school. You'll find a bio of your...

This hotel is a trip back in time! It's an old Victorian hotel that has retained its charm. The desk staff are attired in period clothes so you feel as though you are in a time capsule. There are no TV's in the room but they do have WiFi. The sinks and Victorian cast iron tubs add to the nostalgia....

Returned for our annual business trip to the area, and spend a couple hours sitting at the beautiful Hotel Lenhart, overlooking Lake Chautauqua, sipping real, authentic Dark 'n Stormies. If you know what they are, this is the only place in the area to get them, and they are made perfectly. Skip the house drink the Porch Rocker, and go...

We have been going to the Lenhart for over 20 years now. As soon as you walk into the spacious lobby, you feel like you have went 100 years back into time! No elevators, No Phones, No air, NO TV. Just sit on the large front porch and watch the Amazing sunset on the Lake. The rooms are all different...

We stayed in a remodeled room with full bath that kept that feeling of walking back into another era. I noticed that other guests were using the bathrooms at the end of the hallway. A very good breakfast was included. But the Hotel Lenhart is all about sitting on the front porch rocking, people watching, and sipping on a cold...

I'm okay with quaint hotels but I am not okay with grown people having a frat party at midnight. Place smells old and decaying. Only accepts cash and checks - no cards - this way you have no paper trail for the government. Minimal at best. Bar is like your 99 year old grandma's basement. Once is enough.

You have to experience this at least once! we were able stay one night, and at the end of the summer season on the Lake. When I walked into the hotel, I could imagine that I was on the Titanic to sail, definitely a step back in time. IT was cool weather when we were there, so we did not...
