No place to check in, and no notice that that is the case, so we left car on side of the road with flashers on while one of us ran in to check in. Room was creative with heater in window unit so bathroom on the other side of the room was freezing - how about a heat lamp in... More

Very nice hotel. Unforgettable food at the hotel restaurant. A fish like I never had before. My wife's choice was a really delicious scallop. Everything for thirty dólares. Can you imagine this? This was a wonderful experience

We stayed at the Roundhouse as we were attending a wedding that was also being held there. We stayed in a mill house room and enjoyed the amount of space and open feel of the room. Front desk not the most helpful especially when the rooms are in a complete other building that we were unsure how to get to.... More

Food was good, went restaurant week. Love wine but selection on wine menu is pretty bad. Only NY wines by the glass (small glass), got barely half a glass for $14, very pricey for a local wine that wasn't good, tasted like vinegar. Unless they improve wine selection won't be back; how about some reds from South Africa, California, Australia,... More

This property commands a beautiful location, and the hotel is spread over three buildings in a campus. You check in at the lowest building (closest to the river -- there is no good place to park for check-in). The central check in and restaurant do not appear to be handicapped accessible. I am not sure that there is a better... More

The Roundhouse was great. Beacon is in the middle of the middle valley. The property is new and an incredible amount has gone into taking this industrial site and making it a great hotel in the valley. The rooms and bath were large, spacious, and comfortable (although my wife laughed every time I got in or out of the low... More

Had an amazing weekend at the roundhouse. The room was wonderful (203) with an incredible view of the waterfalls and the most comfortable bed. The free breakfast in the morning was excellent. Only issue was with the lounge on a Sunday night, which served dinner. The Maitre d seemed a bit indifferent and unapologetic when a bus boy seated a... More

Good sized room with wonderful view, but could have had more seating for the price they charge. Beacon is a lovely town and Hotel location great. Warm and inviting bar and we had a simple lunch which was good. Staff very friendly.

I spent a great night at the Roundhouse with two friends. The rooms were clean, the bathroom fabulous, the beds were very comfortable. We dined at the hotel restaurant, and it was inventive and delicious. The staff was SO professional, friendly, and helpful. The town of Beacon is a great example of industrial malaise turned into a vital, diverse and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Roundhouse is a unique, historical property at the foot of the Hudson Highlands mountain range and overlooking a beautiful, rushing waterfall in charming, artsy Beacon, NY. Spread over six acres, hotel rooms are in two distinct buildings: The Roundhouse itself and The Mill Building. Both structures are over 100 years old and previously housed an early textile mill and the first lawnmower factory in the US, among other factories and businesses. The stunning renovations feature everything from reclaimed brick and original wooden beams to the actual stone foundation creating entire walls. There are currently 23 rooms available at The Roundhouse: cozy street-view Doubles, deluxe King Size Suites with views of Beacon Falls, a corner room that sits right on the rushing Fishkill Creek and two beautifully appointed Penthouse suites that open out onto rooftop balconies. ... more   less
