What a great Lodge. You have to fly in, but that is part of the fun. To see the Okovango laid out below you. The staff were amazing, the food great and the Managers really tried to pack in as many different activities as they could during our stay. This was all included in the price. We would go again in a flash.
We were a group of 19 people that I had organized for my birthday. The trip was postponed for 2 years due to Covid. When we finally arrived we were greeted in song by the staff and that was the beginning of 3 wonderful days. The staff could not have been more helpful. The guides were superb and really went above and beyond on every jeep ride. We saw heaps of lions and go so close I still cannot believe it. The food was great and the facilities were excellent. We were in the newest of the deluxe rooms which were very lux and beautifully appointed. Note they have a power point tower with USB and multiple plugs so you do not really need adapters. We were treated to a lovely performance by the staff on our last night which was just lovely. Greg and Sue the managers did everything possible to make our stay perfect. You are really in the wild at Kadizora as it is indeed remote but that makes it all the better. You will be thrilled and amazed if you choose to stay at Kadizora as it is really top notch.…
I booked this a few years ago but y'know....Covid. Finally arrived April 25, 2022. Turns out I was the only guest at the lodge for my 4-night stay, but I don't think it would have mattered much except for the game drives. The Good: easy flight from maun or kasane to the lodge. NO SINGLE SUPPLEMENT!! Game drives/Water Activities: It's on a spillway so it gets early water during the flood, which is why I booked it. Game drives are better than the water activities, which are only done in the afternoon. Mokoro was OK. Boat was better (I expected it to be the other way around). Mornings were cold and didn't warm up until 11am when out on game drives. Beautiful mid-drive stops for picnics beside watering holes or out in the grass. If you're into photography consider booking private drives - lots of distance to cover so the animals are spread out Balloon: Turns out the balloon doesn't fly over the flood; it stays entirely over land. I ended up not going because I wanted to fly over the flooded delta (ironically, this was the main reason I booked Kadizora in the first place) Camp: close to the airstrip. Overlooks the spillway so you see animals in the water (mainly elephants). Family of warthogs live under the main deck...they wander through camp from time to time. Vervets and baboons and fruit bats live in the trees around the camp. Laundry included in price....that was a bonus! Rooms are spotless and isolated from each other for privacy. Don't leave stuff on your patio - the monkeys will take it! They can be chilly at night, depending on the season (I went at the end of April and the weather was all over the place, hot one day, cool the next. Animals: I've done a kenya/tanzania private safari in the past...in many ways this was better. The camp is in an area where you can drive off the road; this allows you to get (respectfully) closer to the animals and have intimate 1 on 1 time with them. I sat for an hour with painted dogs 15 feet from my car, and I sat on another day with a family of lions and cubs about 18 feet from my car. The zebras don't bolt when they hear a car; you can have amazing moments with the animals here while still having an ethical game drive. The animals are used to you being there. The guides are determined to find you what you want to see, regardless of what it takes. We overstayed our return times a few times because we were having moments with the animals. Food: I'm a vegetarian and did not have high hopes due to the isolated nature and the supply chain, but i was pleasantly surprised. The camp mgrs are flexitarians so they do a pretty good job for us plant grazers! Miscellaneous: I took a nasty spill at the airport just before boarding the flight. The airline called ahead and let the camp know, and i was greeted with a first aid kit that was pretty well stocked for minor injuries. The not so good: I've never seen mosquitos this bad in my life. Not just the camp, but the entire area. I am bitten to within an inch of my life despite bug spray. I am now on antibiotics for infected bites. My phone screen is covered in corpses. Wear safari pants and jackets!!! They say there's minimal malaria in the area but I am taking anti-malarials anyway. All in all, a good choice.…
Excellent camp in Botswana’s Okavango Delta. 5 star accomodations and delicious meals. Very knowledgeable safari guides. The safari activities (by jeep, mokoro & boat) were all excellent. We had a great time. Also, we highly recommend pairing this camp with their sister camp in Chobe NP, Elephant Valley Lodge.
Great guides, attentive staff, awesome food. Everything about this camp was perfect. We stayed in the Lux tents - very special! Amazing wildlife viewing. We also recommend pairing Kadizora with their sister lodge, Elephant Valley Lodge near Chobe.
The tents are smartly appointed and every detail has been well planned. The team at the camp truly makes the visit extraordinary. The friendly staff makes every effort to assure that you are comfortable at all times. The food is prepared with passion and the menu is nicely varied. The guides are experienced and will educate and entertain your with their broad knowledge of the nature and the animals. If you are choosing a camp to stay in the Delta, Kadizora is a smart choice.
Kadizora is a beautiful atmospheric bush camp and has kept its character as a rustic but very comfortable safari experience. The tents are luxurious and have everything needed for a comfortable stay. The location is remote and the animal sightings spectacular. Our guide Sparks was knowledgable, polite and nothing too much trouble. The food and service in the camp excellent. The managers Greg and Sue could not have been more helpful and sociable. This is the twelfth camp we have visited in the Delta and its up there with the best. We will definitely return. Getting there post Covid could not have been more seamless from arrival in Botswana through immigration and to the small bush flight to the camp. No hassle at any stage. (One piece of advice is to have paper copies of any documents as well as on your phone)…
It is very rare that I would go back to the same place twice- however I can surely say I will be going back here. From the moment you arrive at the beautiful camp and are met by camp managers Greg and Sue, you feel like you have arrived at a home from home. They treat you so well you feel as if you are a guest in their own home. The rest of the team are equally caring and kind, while they also produced an entertaining evening of singing and dancing! Moreover, the guides are seriously top notch. OC, Navas and Sparks are incredibly knowledgable, engaging and funny, making every game drive a complete joy. Finally, the food is great. I am always surprised how kitchens operating in the deepest bush are able to churn out such consistently good food. Afternoon tea is taken in the communal area, where you can often see elephants bathing in the background. All round, a superb place to stay and indulge in great safari.…

- Transport from air strip was great, friendly, my guide Mr O.C alias “General Koudou” was on time, super kind, the 15mn bush drive to lodge are memorable. - Arrival at the lodge wasn’t like any other, I got welcomed by the entire staff singing and dancing with such warmth that you feel instantly at home while being in a whole new cultural environment. - The camp is perfectly set, you are in the middle of savannah with amazing landscapes no matter where you look at. Tents are brand new, amazingly decorated and designed, luxuriously tasteful, so are the common areas. Every evening a fire takes place at the middle of the camp, everyone gathers, share about their stunning day, stories, replacing televisions and cellphones in the process. What better than a few human beings talking to each other without screens around right ? - Food was amazing, chef deserves five stars, from local dishes to contemporary meals you will ask and find anything you need. Staff is mindful of your taste and culinary / nutritional requirement, which is a big +, they will do anything to accommodate you. Like they did with me. - Activities, were fun, Mr O.C aka “General Koudou” went above and beyond to provide the best game drive one could hope for. I’ve been lucky to experience many safaris across the world, the one I got there were unique. Mr O.C is very knowledgeable when it gets to animal behavior, where they can be at each time of the day, interactions and safety, which led us to spend one of the most amazing sunset I have ever had with hyena Cubs and the entire family, up-close, let alone the lions and elephants we met during our bush walk. I tried the mokoro which was incredibly fun, especially being close to the hippos :) - Unfortunately I didn’t get to experience the HotAir Balloon because the guys who run it weren’t around. - Health and Safety, camp is surrounded by electric cables so you are fine, few lovely warthogs like to hang to around which makes them lovely companions to chat with. Sanitizers are everywhere, staff wear masks, their temperature is checked every morning, social distancing is respected and that explains why COVID 19 ain’t around much in the area. A huge circumstantial advantage is that u won’t have much mass tourism around like it use to, leaving the entire bush walks, safaris, game drives all for yourself turning it into a magical super VIP experience with the wildlife. Highly recommend.…
