Selinda is a great camp - and the fact that it was a hunting reserve turned safari camp intrigued me. I have followed Beverly and Derek Joubert's work, and I was really looking forward to spending time at Selinda. That said, the guide that I had (Stanley) was completely unable to emotionally connect with the three guests (all of us...

We visited 3 camps while in Botswana and am happy that we saved the best, Selinda, for last. Everyone was professional yet friendly. The setting was exquisite. Our guide, Joseph, was great! I only wish we had stayed longer than our 3 nights so we could have taken a day to just relax around the camp.

Our visit to Selinda was fantastic - from the staff to the food to the accommodations and, of course, our great guide, Stanley. The game was incredible and I can't wait to go back! This camp was the best of the three we stayed at in Botswana.

We recently took our three teenage daughters to Botswana for our first safari. Selinda was truly a gift. Quite a trek to get to from Los Angeles but well worth the long travel. The entire staff was first rate and we are most thankful for the incredible guide Motts. He was professional, hardworking and knowledgable. This camp felt very authentic...

We spent 4 nights at Selinda, in a family tent which was very large and exceedingly well appointed. The highlights were seeing a lion kill with the pride of lions on our first game drive, and following a wild dog pack. Our guide, Mots, was fantastic with the ability to make everything interesting and accommodate our wishes. As well as...

I spent time at Selinda in August 2014. It's stunningly beautiful, the rooms are wonderful, the food is spectacular - but what shone most brightly for me at Selinda Camp is the service. I became ill with a very sore throat while at Selinda (not FROM anything at Selinda I assure you) and the team brought me soup, medication and...

This was my second visit to Selinda and this time I was accompanied by my wife. We received a warm welcome at the airstrip from Lizzy who was the previous camp manager and has now been promoted. Selinda is a classic-style camp with comfortable tent. This property is under the ownership of Great Plains which disassociated itself - for marketing...

We stayed 3 nights at this camp, our second stop on our Botswana safari. We were very impressed with everything about Selinda. The tent/room was spacious, comfortable and lovely, with great views out over river that runs in front of the camp. The communal areas were beautiful, this is part of the Great Plains company and the owners pay a...

This was a return visit for us and it was just as good if not better than our previous visit just over 18 months ago. Everyone works very hard to make you feel at home. The staff are excellent and the guides are exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble and anything is possible.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Selinda Camp looks out onto the Selinda Spillway, a unique seasonal waterway that links the Okavango Delta with the wildlife-rich floodplains of the Linyanti marshes. Selinda Camp's nine spacious tents (including a family unit) are tucked away into the natural vegetation with wonderful views of palm-studded floodplains. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom and veranda. The main area is attractive, cool and under thatch and comprises dining, lounge and bar areas with spectacular views. Set apart from the main area is the photo and art gallery next to the camp's 500-bottle wine cellar, open-air deck, plunge pool and traditional campfire area. The Selinda Spillway winds its way through the Selinda Reserve and forms a magnet for the wildlife of the region. The area is thus an all-year-round wildlife viewing destination with large concentrations of elephant, buffalo, antelope, lechwe, giraffe, zebra, kudu, cheetah, wild dog, lion and leopard, with excellent birding of over 300 species in both the marshes and the dry country. Morning and afternoon-into-night game drives in custom-built 4x4 Land Cruisers with Guided nature walks, boating and seasonal fly-fishing ... more   less
