This was our first time in the Okavango and didn’t really know what to expect at Selinda. All I can say is if you’re looking for an eco luxury experience, you’ll find it here! From the amazing meals, game drives and boat safari, the staff went above and beyond! Thank you Alex for some memorable game drives, seeing six lion cubs by a pond was magical! Thank you Anika and Michael for the sundowner conversations, we will definitely recommend this experience to friends!
Selinda is a fabulous camp built on the banks of the Selinda Spillway. The small size(3 tents plus a family suite) ensures that every guest is completely spoiled. Six, the camp manager, has an infectious personality and smile that immediately puts his guests at ease and makes you feel like family. He has created a cohesive, fun team that kept us smiling the whole 4 days of our visit. Assistant, the executive chef, continually surprised us with delicious dishes and amazing culinary experiences including brunch in the bush, dinner in the wine cellar and interactive cooking in their demonstration kitchen. Assistant is a gem of a chef, creative and innovative and so personable. We loved his fresh ginger and beet juices and little surprises at sundowner!! Last but not least, Obie, our guide, who jumped over from Zarafa camp at my request, was fabulous! He is so knowledgeable about everything including birds and butterflies, and can trek and find animals even in the dense foliage of Summer. Obie is a wonderful human being who cares deeply about wildlife and shares his passion so openly and willingly with others. It was my traveling companions first camp on her first trip to Africa and Selinda did not disappoint. Thank you Selinda for a wonderful stay!…
Selinda is simply gorgeous. The camp had been completely renovated and the results are extraordinary. I travel to Africa frequently and have had the good fortune to stay at many exquisite and outstanding safari lodges in several countries. Selinda is certainly one of the most stunning. This was my first experience with Great Plains Conservation, the parent company of Selinda. Derek and Beverly Joubert have a mission, concept and real understanding of how to run a company and a lodge. They are true professionals and my grandson and I were the beneficiaries of their outstanding operation. The Jones are the managers and the do a marvelous job. They know how to make this very luxurious lodge a very special place. Both are extremely warm, hospitable, and gracious. It was a pleasure to be in their company. The food was outstanding, the most delicious during our one month trip to Botswana and Zimbabwe. The wines are also special. The chefs operate out of an open kitchen. The game viewing was very good. We especially enjoyed our experience with the lions and their cubs. The managers arranged a fabulous lunch in the wild with a beautiful bar and a delectable meal. One of the unique features of this lodge is the professional and very sophisticated camera they lend their guests. My grandson Hunter was thrilled to be able to use such a fine camera. Thank you for making our stay so memorable. I look forward to staying at more camps in the Great Plains portfolio. This one is a gem!!…
This is a great Safari camp, excellent accommodations, fabulous food and beautiful surroundings! We had amazing animal sitting and a great time. The Okavango Delta area is fantastic. Lots of lions and a great encounter with a leopard, wild dog and so much more!
Selinda camp was so outstanding that we extended our stay! The staff, food, accommodation and game drives were beyond belief! Our guides were not only fun, but extremely knowledgeable about the wildlife. We were delighted with so many experiences from water safaris to a luxurious lunch in the bush. It was a dream come true to spend time at Selinda camp. Journey Beyond suggested this camp and they were RIGHT about suggesting we stay at least 3 days!!
