Love all Wilderness Safari Camps and this was our second visit to Chitabe. The camp employees are amazing and the service exceptional. Loved Thompson the manager and our guide Ant. The food was delicious as always and in all our stays in these Wilderness Camps, we have never been ill. Lots of diverse wildlife to spend quality time with. Can't...

I’m lucky enough to have visited many of the Wilderness Camps within the Okavango Delta, but finally got around to visiting Chitabe this week. If only I had done so earlier. The camp itself is nicely set out, well maintained, spotlessly clean, and runs so smoothly. But I think what sets this camp apart from all other camps is their...

I have been travelling to Botswana for over 30 years now- of all the areas I have visited, over all the years, it is to Chitabe that I return. I was there most recently in December 2016 with my wife and son, and it was a priviledge to watch him witness this area and its natural beauty first hand, and...

What an amazing camp! The 'tents' were nothing short of luxurious rooms one would expect in a 5-star city hotel. The food was delicious and with 3 course meals and many options to choose from, it was any food-lover's paradise. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, not to mention our wonderful guide. Enthusiastic, humorous and nothing short of an...

Chitabe camp is beautiful. If you're looking for a luxurious stay this is the place to go. The staff are so friendly and Duke, our guide, was full-of-life and incredibly knowledgeable about the delta and its wildlife. We spotted an amazing amount of game, including wild dog, lion, leopard, jackals among others. The rooms are so comfortable and it's hard...

My whole family, 10 people/3 generations went to Chitabe for 4 days. The staff was over the top friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. It was like camping at a hotel, the tents are clean and the accommodations are for class. The food was average, but that's not way we came to Chitabe. Thompson, the manager made sure we were comfortable and...

Our safari to Africa started with Chitabe Camp and was the highlight of the trip. The staff were wonderful, our guide Ant (short for Anthony) was top-notch - extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of the area, geology, climate, etc., but the animals were magnificent! They were abundant in number and variety: we saw lions (a pride of 4 females and...

We stayed at Chitabe in early December and can honestly say it was a life changing experience! We'd flown in from Vumbura Plains, further North in the wetter area of the delta and Chitabe's drier environment made a wonderful contrast. It's also the most personal and welcoming safari camp we've ever visited - the staff here are gold and really...

Chitabe is one of my favourite destinations in Africa! We travel extensively throughout the continent and this remains one of my favourites for many reasons, the game viewing is superb for wildlife photographers, the camps are comfortable and a 'home away from home' and the team working on site are so accommodating. We saw 33 different lions, 4 leopards, 3...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The archetypal Okavango game-viewing destination. Raised on decks on a beautiful tree island in the south-east of the Okavango, Chitabe Camp looks out across a Delta floodplain that is transformed during winter from dry rushes to lush oasis, one of only a few distinct habitats in this diverse concession. Back in camp, the thatched dining and lounge area provide beautiful views, while each tent exudes its own personality, aided by superb fine art wildlife photographs. A pool provides cool sanctuary in the heat of the day. Highlights: On this classic safari experience, game drives take in the different habitats - the variety of these ensures that there is an equal diversity of wildlife, including big game such as elephant and buffalo, but also a range of plains game species like wildebeest, tsessebe and lechwe in numbers that support healthy lion, leopard and hyaena numbers, as well as regular visits by wild dog and cheetah. The camp is composed of 8 tents: spacious en-suite Meru-type tents, individually styled; outdoor shower; double vanity basins. Experiences include: day and night game drives • guided walks (on request). ... more   less
