We spent only one night here as part of a ten day safari. The river setting is quite lovely. We did a late afternoon game drive with our guide and saw masses of wildlife. The bar/deck area is very impressive. Food is good with one major exception. They packed a lunch for us which consisted of dry rolls with an...

We spent 3 nights at Mogothlo in luxurious tents along the river. We were very fortunate to be the only people staying at the camp and had free run of the area. We had been told about the elephants that walk through the camp and shake trees to get the pods of the mogothlo tree to fall down on the...

We spent 4 nights here recently and loved the surroundings and the extremely well appointed tented en suite rooms. The linens were first class and the cleanliness faultless. The staff were wonderful and devoted themselves to us. On the slightly negative side, the tents at this time of year, get so hot during the day, it's impossible to rest in...

This is a little gem outside of Maun. It is a small camp consisting of basic safari style tents. You would expect a bit more luxury in the tents for the price you are paying but then again you aren't there to spend your time inside a tent! The camp is situated in a beautiful and remote area of Botswana....

After a bit of difficulty in actually finding the lodge from the main road, as it is not well signposted and the lodge is a good 5 Kms down a very sandy road, we were warmly welcomed by Jane, the efficient manageress with a good sense of humour. We had the most wonderful sundowner drive to the river to watch...

This is not a luxury lodge (no pool, wifi or the like), it is a small non-fenced place with great service of a small crew and close contact to the wilderness. Great game drives in the area included (we had Rex as a ranger). Great view over the river from the terrace and the tents. The drive to Moremi was...

You may expect a lot when asked to pay more than US$300/night for a tent... Our problems started when our 4X4 car was stuck in the sand 1.5 kms from the lodge; we were not the first ones going through this experience (waiting 45 minutes for a rescue), but the lodge never alerts the guests, not even showing the alternative...

Mogothlo Lodge is situated about 40 km from the Moremi which is a bit of a drawback as it takes more than an hour to reach Moremi , because of bad roads! As such the tents are comfortable and the food OK. A novel idea is their policy of paying BWP 100 as corkage for your whole stay! Had the...

As a family with two small children, it is very important that their fun and safety is taking into consideration. Mogotlho Safari Lodge, is a lodge of absolute bliss, game viewing is equal or better, then many places in Africa, we saw, Lion, Wild dog, Buffalo, Elephant, Roan antelope, Leopard, Giraffes, and so many plain game. Debbie the manager on...
