We stayed at 2 different camps in Botswana. This was our second camp, and we are so glad that we had this experience. To see the waters all around, to be on the Okavango delta. The facility is beautiful. The staff is wonderful. The 2 managers, Onks and Reetsang were excellent hosts. Our game drives were fantastic, with Chris and TT. The highlights included the night game drive and the bush walk. Highly informative. The setting by the water is really peaceful and awe inspiring. The animals were so close! I love Botswana. Truly a magical place.
After visiting Victoria Falls and Chobe we came home to Mma Dinare Camp and we truly felt at home. When we arrived at the airstrip and met our guides Grass and Jacob our adventure began immediately. Grass was so knowledgeable about the area from all the wild life to the trees to the prints in the sand and Jacob was happy to give lessons in tracking. Our camp manager "Tiny" was so welcoming and wonderful to meet every question and need quickly and efficiently. Our first night there we were so tired upon arriving the guides were happy to let us rest for an extended period and take us out on a night drive which was exciting. The rooms were more than beautiful and when they say don't walk out alone at night they mean it. When Grass picked us up for dinner the first night there was a leopard in the trees not 20 feed from our porch. All the meals were so lovely and one of our party is allergic to dairy and they went out of their way to serve something especially for her at every meal. A certain elephant got a little too comfortable with camp and had to be encouraged to go away by the Wildlife department for his own good which was something for everyone to talk about but more than everything being so comfortable and able to relax was what we needed. I sincerely hope to return as soon as possible.…
This was our first safari camp during our first African trip and I would say Mma Dinare was the perfect place to start. The staff made us feel welcomed and helped to promote an intimate feel to the camp; as if welcoming you into a home. Tiny (camp manager) was professional and made sure our needs were met. Our guides Edwin and Chris made our game drives exciting and enjoyable. They were engaging and knowledgeable about all the animals we came across. The accommodations(tents) were comfortable and cute. The food and service was topnotch. There is no Wi-Fi but truly I did not need it. Having the ability to disconnect from the outside world and immerse into this experience was the best way to truly get the feel of being on vacation and enjoying the time there. Make sure to add Mma Dinare to your Okavango Delta safari trip!…
I recently stayed 3 nights at Mma Dinare in Botswana and LOVED it! The staff is amazing! The food was outstanding! The private tent/cabins were perfect. On top of all of that, the wildlife viewing was excellent! Our guides, Edwin and Chris, were great! We saw everything on our list including a Leopard and Wild Dogs! Each tent/cabin has two USB outlets for charging. Please note, there are not plug-in outlets, so bring appropriate charing cables. The outdoor shower is great with plenty of hot water. There is a self-serve bar for a nice after lunch or after dinner cocktail. We were also very fortunate to have a few elephants come right into the camp which makes for great stories and photos!
Everything we hoped it would be in terms of the accommodation, food, service, guides and game viewing. We loved every minute of the three days we spent here and we’re sorry to leave. It’s pretty remote and we felt that we were seeing the ‘real’ Africa!
The lodge location is very exclusive and has almost no camps around which makes the game car very private and there are a lot of animals (we saw many many lions, buffalos, elephants and hyenas). Our guides Action and Sam were super nice, provided a great service, and knew the area perfectly. The rest of the staff provided also a great service, the common area is very confortable with great views. The rooms were decorated with great taste although were not super luxurious, and it was very cold during the night.
We stood 2 nights in this recently build (2018) camp, so everything was in good condition. Be aware that some tents can become very hot during daytime since the sun burns down on unshaded locations. Very nice "tents", good service, very attentive staff. Game drive was excellent, great team with Chris and Jacob. Unlike to other camps the go EVERYWHERE with their Toyotas. A couple of times, especially on lions traces, I thought we will never get out of the Bush again. Be aware that for security purposes you can not roam around in the camp after dark
You are made to feel special during your entire stay. You are greeted by your guide and tracker at the airstrip and then an even bigger welcome by the manager and staff at the lodge. Everyone goes out of their way to exceed your expectations and to “improve” every experience. A true gem with real Botswana hospitality
We had a very nice time in Mma Dinare. The rooms are spectacular: 80 m2 luxury tent with an outdoor shower (very pleasant), a private terrace which allowed us to have a nice drink while watching the animals and river, the rooms are on stilts so there's a good chance to cross an animal on the way to diner ! The guide we had was great and we saw almost everything. We went tracking the lions for 2 hours and were rewarded by finding 6 of them. The private concessions allows you to be very close to animals (off tracks) and stay with them as long as you want (only cars from the lodge are allowed). You are also allowed to night drive and thanks to that we saw 2 leopards hunting which was an amazing experience. The staff was very kind. As it was our honeymoon, we had some sparkling wine in the room, decorations on the bed and the best was the brunch in front of the hippos! Swimming pool area could be better, small children are allowed in the lodge and we had a lot of noise during one afternoon. Food could be a bit better.…
Our second of three camps during my son’s and my long-delayed-due-to-the-pandemic November 2021 trip to Botswana. A very special stay thanks to the team of wonderful people at Mma Dinare. Onks, the on-site manager, made certain we felt at home and part of the Mma Dinare family - in fact, our last evening the three of us had dinner together, truly a wonderful night. All of the staff, including Tsitsi, were fantastic and eager to ensure our stay was beyond our high expectations. They succeeded. Oh yeah, the game drives - our guide, T, made certain these were unforgettable. Some highlights of our two night stay included a mother cheetah and her 3 cubs (not once, but twice - first under a tree staying out of the sun, and then during our night drive back we were fortunate to see them on the move); while waiting for a pack of wild dogs to start their hunt, a lioness approached and the dogs jumped, barked and ran off, thereafter the remainder of “T’s” pride of 12, showed up and we followed them - which led to a baboon being pulled down from a tree as it tried to scramble away; incredible birds - Bateleur, Lilac-breasted roller, Marabou, Southern Ground Hornbill - to name but a few; and numerous hyena, black backed and side striped jackals, small spotted gevet, African civet, kudus, elephants, and on and on and on. Bottom line - go. Thank you Onks and T, we hope to be back!…
