We were lucky enough to stay at this camp for four nights - May 8 - 10. The tents were amazing. Clean and luxurious. It was cold in the evenings and there were nice heated blankets to keep us warm. The service was impeccable. The food was so delicious, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The game drives were the best we had during our two week African adventure. The guides went above and beyond to show you all they could. Not only did they show you, they drove up very close to the animals so you could get the best experience possible. We saw EVERYTHING! The most exciting part was getting to witness an actual kill by wild dogs. I know this isn't for everyone, but it was a real life up close experience of nature. Simply amazing! Words cannot do this place justice. The staff, and people of Botswana are some of the nicest I have run across in all of my travels. If you get a chance to stay here, I highly recommend it! Thank you, Stanley's Camp, for the adventure of a lifetime!!…
Words cannot describe how wonderful our stay at Stanley’s camp was. We came in April 2022 for 4 days. The place itself is simple, but beautiful - I happen to really like rustic luxury and that is what Stanley’s camp is. The best thing about Stanley’s is the people and service. We live in Abu Dhabi/Dubai and are therefore privy to some very swanky hotels and great service - The service at Stanley’s is just as good if not better than many of these establishments. Every single person was so warm and welcoming, friendly, yet professional. They made us feel so special! The food was also very good and every day we had delicious meals and fresh baked breads. All day they brought us delicious food, wines, cocktails and snacks! We easily gained ten pounds but it was worth it. We just loved all of the bartenders and servers! Our safari guide was Temo. Wow!!! Temo was an excellent safari guide. His knowledge of the flora and fauna of his homeland is really something to be admired. He is a real man of the wilderness and he used his amazing skills to track and find leopards, lions, hyenas, small cats, buffalos, elephants, and many birds for us. We didn’t come at the time of the mokoro, but we really didn’t feel like we missed out because Temo really went above and beyond to show us his beautiful country. We really cannot sing his praises high enough. He was just the absolute best and he showed us and taught us so much. In sum - Stanley’s was fantastic and we are so blessed to have been able to stay there. Thank you Stanley’s Camp and thank you Temo!…
Stayed here in March 2022 for four nights. The camp is beautiful, never had a tent so luxurious as this one. All the other services were impeccable, nice and friendly staff, clean, food and service were great. The drives were also good but unfortunately the flood was a bit late so there was not as much water as we hoped for. So only drives with the gameviewer and no water activities. Besides that had a great time with beautiful sightings and the rangers went the extra mile to show you all the interesting stuff like leopards and lions. If you book here I advice to book when there is more certainty about the flood.....
Located in true wilderness and in mids of bush and swamps this wonderful camp proved a true haven and lovely home in the delta. The tents are luxurious and equipped with all that is needed. The restaurant/bar tent and deck look out into a swamp area and elephants and other wildlife come to grase nearby which is lively. I was welcomed by Nerise and her team and had my intruduction that also includes safety aspects. Like all Sanctuary guides Kam showed me the area, game drives and walks, my favorite were the trips by Mokoro boat through the shallow canals, a gentle quiet way to travel and admire water lillies, birds, game and the occasional croc. Hippos usually move in the slightly deeper lagunas. I loved my time there and highly recommen this camp as a truly authentic experience in the Okawango region!…
Best safari camp—ever. We came in June and were spoiled, as we were the only guests in the camp due to chance and the hotel newly resuming operations since covid restrictions were lifted. The tent, shower area, appointments and cleanliness —thanks to hard working women—were impeccable. Vervet monkeys all around in the morning. The staff was the best ever. Literally-ever member of the staff—from management Loretta and Bryan; Chef Garreth and his team made the most savory, gourmet, stunningly presented, cuisine at every meal. Alllan our safari guide—showed us non-stop animals and was so friendly and knowledgeable. Owner, a wonderful woman waitstaff in the dining room was so kind and welcoming. Every single person at Stanley’s deserves 5 stars for their outstanding service. It was a spectacular experience not only because the location in the Delta was incredible for wildlife viewing but because of these wonderful Botswanan people that make this resort what it is. A truly once in a lifetime experience. Thanks from Lisa, Brad and Emma…
