To start our adventure at Chitabe, we had a nice flight from Maun in one of Wilderness Camps’ small planes with our friendly and efficient pilot, Nathan. It was just the two of us with Nathan. He escorted us to the plane, explained all the safety features, and then showed us a map that we could use to follow the...

My Mom has always talked about one trip....an African Safari to see the elephants. For her 70th birthday, we lived the dream. Chitabe Lediba was our first stop and it was amazing. A beautiful camp. Fantastic and plentiful game viewing. And a wonderful guide named Luke. But it did not stop there. They surprised her with a birthday party at...

Accommodation excellent and delicious meals served 4 times a day - not sure how they manage as all provisions have to be flown in. Staff welcomed me as a solo 75 year old as if I were a really special person. Game sightings included all the animals I ever wanted to see, even cheetah and leopards.

What a lovely place! The staff at Chitabe was so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious (the baked goods were great, the blueberry bread otherworldly). The outdoor showers were a very nice options and fun to use because you could be visited at any time by a baboon or elephant). Our guide Ant was a pleasure to be with...

Visiting Chitabe Lediba should go on your bucket list. The African scenery beautiful. In our three days we saw leopards, lions, elephants, buffalo (no Rhino there) and so many other animals. Luke ,our guide, was very friendly and knowledgable. Sundowners (evening G and Ts) by the hippos was one of the many highlights. The accomodation was in an unfenced camp...

We truly enjoyed our 3 nights at Chitable Lediba. The accomodations were very nice and quite comfortable. The common areas were very pretty too. It was winter and the pool was ice cold but it's easy to understand why a plunge in the hotter months would be refreshing during siesta. The management and staff at the camp were friendly and...

How can I start. This trip was our third trip to Africa and the second to Chitabe. As part of the Wilderness Safari group, Chitabe is what the call a classic camp - not over the top with luxury (though actually quite lovely), the game viewing is the best we have experienced. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Intimate Chitabe Lediba is a perfect game viewing base for families or small groups. A lediba is a lagoon that has become a waterhole, where a variety of wildlife comes to drink. Chitabe Lediba's dining area, lounge, and pool all overlook just such a vista. The sister camp of Chitabe, it lies on the other side of the same tree island and echoes many of its sibling's qualities. The same well-appointed canvas tents are raised on decks with uniquely styled interiors, but the smaller nature of the camp offers a more intimate experience, ideal for small groups or families. Highlights: Chitabe Lediba sports that classic Okavango Delta scenery, from palm-dotted floodplains to open savannah and woodlands. This mix of Okavango (water) and Kalahari (land) makes for an excellent home to an abundant array of herbivores: giraffe, buffalo, red lechwe, tsessebe, impala and elephant, which in turn support the larger predators: lion, leopard, spotted hyaena, cheetah and the rare and charismatic wild dog. The Camp is composed of 4 Tents (including 2 Family Tents): Spacious en-suite Meru-type tents, individually styled; outdoor shower with a view; family units withadjoining en-suite bedrooms. Experiences Include: Day and night game drives and Guided walks (on request) ... more   less
